Detrás de cada delicioso plato se encuentra la inspiradora trayectoria del Rey Hung Jimmy Chang Zapata. Nacido en Maracay, Estado Aragua, Venezuela, soy el resultado de una hermosa fusión: mi padre, Ramón Chang, de ascendencia china (cantonés), y mi madre, Adela Zapata, de origen venezolano. Mi pasión por la cocina comenzó a muy temprana edad. Pasé más de una década perfeccionando el arte de la comida china venezolana en el restaurante familiar de mi ciudad natal. Obligado a buscar nuevas oportunidades, llegué a Estados Unidos con un sueño.

When we visited there was 2 customers and 5 staff. It took about 10 minutes to get water and a menu. The music was blasting Spanish music and did not reflect on a comfortable atmosphere. Staff were busy visiting with each other. The menu is missing many traditional Chinese dishes. No soups and felt it was really lacking. One and done. We will miss the prior owners and traditions.

I first walked and thought it was Chinese but instead it’s Venezuelan / Chinese. So I decided to give it a try . I ordered the fried rice combo W/ ribs and egg roll , it was the worse that I ever had !!! The ribs was terribly chewy and let’s not forget the egg roll it took me a minute to even chew it down ! . The fried rice was just soy sauce on rice ! This would be my first and last time that I will eat there. You have a Chinese theme in the Restaurant but it doesn’t feel Chinese .. I would rate it -1

Great food, large portions, wonderful experience! This is a family owned restaurant and I would highly recommend. Joy and Julie were warm and welcoming, they even brought us coffee after our meal! I will definitely be a regular.

I am not into fusion with asian food and was hesitant when I realized that is what this is but I am so glad we tried it. Their food is full of so much flavor. The egg rolls were fresh, not frozen and crisp ingredients not the mushy kind that are so prevalent in Utah. Everything was so good. Portions were huge and service was top notch. Everyone was so nice. I am so glad this place is open by my house!

My husband and I would eat at the New Dragon Diner every year after having our taxes done. This year we found out our tax person was retiring and that New Dragon Diner had permanently closed. The good news is that we discovered Chang’s. Joe greeted us with such a welcoming smile and explained that this was Chinese/Venezuela infusion. This definitely piqued our interest. She also told us portions were big. She was right. We shared a fried rice and sweet and sour chicken dish. It came with an egg roll. Plus Daisy delivered us some complimentary potstickers. The food was fresh and favorable. The atmosphere was colorful and homie. The best part was the people! I feel like I left making 3 new friends. I’m excited to return!
