Every single element of the meal, from the delicious starter right through to the Churros for dessert, was absolutely incredible. The highlight was easily the Lamb Shank. It was tender, wonderfully flavoursome, and the portion was huge.
With its great atmosphere, brilliant service, and wonderful food, I cannot recommend a visit to Chamuyo highly enough – and I will certainly be back when I head back to Brighton!
The staff make sure your glasses are never empty, water or wine, and they regularly check in to see that you have everything you need. You can also feel that they genuinely enjoy being there, and that makes all the difference
All the love from the table of French friends who had, again, a great dinner last night!
We had a fantastic dinner at this steakhouse. The steak was cooked perfectly. Juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The sides were also spot on, especially the grilled vegetables and chunky fries. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned.
Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was cosy, and the small touches (like the chimichurri sauce and candlelight) made the experience even better.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality steak and a relaxed dining vibe!
I started with the calamari, which was very thin and not fresh at all. I hoped the ribeye would redeem the experience, but unfortunately it didn’t. The steak was extremely fatty, tough, and lacked flavor , to the point where it was hard to chew.
Overall, very disappointing. The ratings are misleading and I wouldn’t recommend this place.
I would like to clarify a few points in response to your reply.
First of all, this was not my first time eating a ribeye steak. I have eaten ribeye in many restaurants across different countries, which can easily be seen by reading my other Google reviews. Such as KYU Miami. Based on that experience, the ribeye I was served here was well below expectation in terms of quality, texture, and flavor. I chipped my tooth while eating. I wrapped a big part of the food in a napkin, but you didn’t even notice.
Even when I have a bad meal, I always pay my bill and leave — which I did on this occasion as well. However, writing an honest review about my experience is my right as a customer. Saying that I was dissatisfied and that I would share my experience publicly is not a threat; it is simply an exercise of freedom of expression. This freedom cannot be restricted, nor can it be “bought” by offering free food or desserts.
I strongly reject the claim that I behaved in a threatening or intimidating manner toward any member of your staff. I calmly expressed my dissatisfaction after the meal. Presenting this as harassment or intimidation is inaccurate and unfair.
Regarding payment, a service charge was automatically added to the bill. I requested that it be removed, which is a reasonable request given my dissatisfaction with the service. This was accepted, but unfortunately with visible irritation and an unprofessional attitude from your staff.
Both the food quality and the service were disappointing. What is even more disappointing is responding to a negative review with exaggerated and misleading accusations. My review reflects my genuine personal experience, and I stand by it.
