We went back and both ordered the seafood combo with pancit and red rice as the sides. It included two nice crispy pieces of fried white fish and three fried shrimp. We were very happy with this meal. We assume that our previous meal that we were unhappy with was just an off day and we will definitely return. Update: We ordered the seafood combo with red rice again. This time we swapped out the macaroni salad for cucumber salad, since we were told that swapping in pancit would be an added charge. The fish and shrimp were crispy. The food here is good, but the flavor does not have a wow factor. Update: Got seafood combos again. Swapped out macaroni salad for cucumber salad. Everything was very good. Fair price for the portions. Update: Went on 6/29/22 and again on 7/6/22 and the same sign saying closed for repairs with a date on it of 6/29/23 was posted. I really hope this isn’t a permanent closure. We like this place a lot. Ok, their website says they are closed 7/4 – 7/10. Update: Got two Seafood Combos with pancit instead of macaroni salad. Both were very good. Fast and friendly service. Update: Got two Seafood Combos with pancit instead of macaroni salad. Both were very good as usual. Got the Seafood Combo and Short Ribs plates. Stopped by at this restaurant recently and it was good! The restaurant
features Hawaiian-Filipino fusion cuisine. I ordered the mixed combo plates with BBQ short ribs and pork ribs. Price was also
good. The portion was more than generous and it tasted fantastic!

We were chatting with a volunteer at the House of Chamorro in the International Houses in Balboa Park, as I wasn’t exactly sure where Chamorro was relative to Guam. We had a very nice conversation and the young lady said we were lucky to have a few really good Chamorran restaurants here in San Diego. Fortunately for us the Chamorran Grill is less than 15 minutes away from us, so we went to check it out. She had recommended the chicken BBQ plate with the red rice and pancit as a typical, traditional dish to start with. Wow. It was really, REALLY wonderful! Never had anything like it before. The BBQ chicken was tender boneless thighs bbq’d to perfection with just enough char, but still tender and moist (and a generous portion!) served over a bed of shredded cabbage with a side of red rice (delicious!) and pancit (really flavorful rice vermicelli that my gluten sensitive wife can eat!), with a few lemon wedges and a killer fina denne sauce (citrus juice, soy sauce, spices and peppers). It’s become one of our new favorites and we love introducing friends to it. They all love it and now some lunch dates are requesting it by name!
The BBQ plate is less than $20 and feeds both my wife and me amply. It’s a small hole in the wall place in a non-descript strip mall, but there’s lots of free parking and it’s close to SDSU. The people are always friendly, the food is always fresh (it can take a bit if it’s busy, but it’s well worth having it cooked fresh to order). Bonus: they also have spam musubi on the menu!
Another new exotic favorite to add to our favorites, and they offer a “loyalty card” that gives you a free entrée after ten purchases. Hafa Adai!

A restaurant serving Hawaiian, Guamanian, and Filipino food by two Filipino brothers who have deep roots in Hawaii and Guam. The dishes we got were good and the prices very reasonable. You have to wait a little for grilled meat dishes as those are prepared on order. They also have some unique dishes like chicken kelaguen (citrus shredded chicken) that you won’t easily find anywhere else.

Great food! And the service was excellent too, Matt with the name of the guy taking our order at the front and was super helpful in answering any questions we had about our orders. Apparently we were advised to get there earlier if we wanted the crispy pork since it’s super popular

15$ for a small size loco moco size of my hand one Pattie one egg and some kind of seasoned rice. Not worth the price. The patty taste like Burger King and they used season rice instead of white rice so u can’t even are the gravey and eggs when u mix it. The bbq chicken musubi used the same seasoned rice and there was barely any chicken it was diced up and dry. I would say there only 15% chicken inside of it rest was rice and it was 8$ in total I spent 30$ for 2 star food. Not worth it.

Most of the negative reviews are from years ago and shouldn’t count toward how this place is now. I tried this place for the first time, and everything I had was good. Obviously, if you want your food more pika or sweet, then that’s personal preference. But this place got good food and the finadenne is better than most places around here. BBQ chicken, ribs, and short ribs are so good, especially with finadenne. We came back to try the pancit, lumpia, and loco moco. Kelaguen can be more pika, but overall, 10/10.

If you are stuck at Kaiser for an unfortunate accident then you have to venture down to this restaurant. It’s very close by and is a great alternative to the hospital food.
The entire restaurant staff is very friendly and went above and beyond to prepare the meal for my wife. This level of customer service is amazing and refreshing.
Foodwise, everything was a hit. BBQ Beef, Spam, Adobo Pork , Red Rice. You just have to experience this place.

Absolutely delicious food! Chamorro grill is an amazing hole in the wall with great service and delicious food. The prices are comparable to the location and the quantity of food is good enough to satisfy the hungers of any person.

Personal favorites are John’s teriyaki chicken and the empanadas.

The grill can get busy around lunch time so it is recommended to call ahead or have time to sit and wait (15-20 min on a slow day). Have gone three times and have not been disappointed yet.

Highly recommend you give it a shot and take an appetite.
