Wanted to visit this place ever since it opened! Finally got a chance this week to go with my colleagues.

Parking is always a challenge when heading to any restaurant in downtown, but since it was a weekday, we found a spot easily.

The entrance and ambience are fabulous — with Buddha statues placed at the entry and throughout the restaurant, and beautiful hanging red/lavender tree leaves adding a lot of charm

Coming to food, as we were party of 7, we ordered

* Kale Pakora
* Bhindi Churi Muri: crispy, veryt thin slices of ladyfinger- good 4/5
* Lasooni gobhi
*Tandoori Medley: mixed platter. Honestly, not sure why they’d include large chicken pieces here; felt like something borrowed from a buffet platter. The only items I liked were the mutton seekh kebab and prawns.

*Gobhi Manchurian: too much sauce – 3/5
* Jhinga Masala: tomato-based gravy with prawns, nothing extraordinary, 3/5
* Bhuna Gost : nope, could not find the gravy… 2.5/5
* Lamb Biryani: average and disappointing, 2.5/5
* Eggplant Bharta
* Gobhi Paratha, Tandoori Roti, Garlic Naan, Laccha Paratha
* Jaljeera, Lassi, Lime soda

To be honest, food was pretty average. Bharta and Bhuna Gosht definitely could’ve been better. It felt very hit or miss—none of the dishes really stood out

Also, Portion was way less then what other restaurant serves!

Service was good but again we were the only party there! they added 20 % gratuity by default

Overall, I’d rate it 3 to 3.5/5 at best. I’ll probably skip it next time unless they bring in something new. Bring some new flavor team, you are not offering anything new!

5 star restaurant with 10s⭐️ services!!!!

Thank you so much Ashin and Paji( Owner) for delicious food and an excellent service. We always feel warm welcome from you and your staff.

We rushed to the restaurant on closing time and the owner of the restaurant served us the food just same as opening time.

Food is always excellent and so does the service!!

Best experience ever!!

We wanted to celebrate birthday after dinner and forget to bring cake from home. We just requested ice cream and owner went nearby store and bought ice cream cake for our birthday celebration!!!

My words can’t describe our happiness!!

Thank you so much for making our celebration so special!!

A Beautiful Indian Buffet Experience in Morristown

I visited Chakra (5 Elm St, Morristown, NJ) for lunch with my sister and her husband, and it was a memorable experience from start to finish. Parking nearby was easy (and free on Sundays!).

The moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with warm smiles and seated quickly. The ambiance is stunning, cascading floral decor, elegant lighting, and traditional Indian accents create a cozy yet refined atmosphere.

We opted for the non-vegetarian buffet at $20 per person, and it delivered both variety and quality.

Highlights:
• Appetizers: Crispy masala papads and flavorful aloo bajjis, with chutneys and garnishes to customize your plate.
• Veg Dishes: Creamy paneer butter masala, well-spiced aloo burji curry, comforting dal, white rice, and tasty veg noodles.
• Non-Veg Dishes: The chicken masala curry was excellent, rich and satisfying. The butter chicken was the only mild note, slightly lacking in depth.
• Served at the table: Juicy chicken kebabs and fresh butter naan both outstanding.
• Desserts: Two light, sweet options to end the meal pleasantly.

Service was kind and attentive, and the entire space was clean, vibrant, and peaceful.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors with a beautiful buffet setting, Chakra is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll be returning soon!

My colleagues and I enjoyed the food at this restaurant very much. Everything was tasty but the lamb chops are to die for. They were so tasty and juicy and soft and definitely one of the best I have had in many years!

It’s our only Indian option in Morristown anymore, but I’m not impressed and will have to get it out of our direct area, I guess.

The Chicken Tikka was actually sweet. We went there once and I thought that was odd, but we got delivery and it was again sweet. Maybe that is just how people like it so I’d be OK if it was just that, but the chicken was also bone dry and tough as a result.

I may try another dish to be sure, but this also means that I will not be getting what has been one of my favorite Indian dishes locally anymore.
