I loved my experience at Cha Baa Thai recently! I orderd the wonton thai soup, mango shrimp, cashew chicken, pineapple rice and of course the iconic spring rolls! My favourite was the mango shrimp and the spring rolls. I loved how the included pieces of mango in the dish. The spring rolls are insanely crispy and they are served hot with a side of a sweet and tangy sauce that keeps you wanting more. The wonton soup was flavoured really nicely and the wonton dough was very soft though I wish the chicken inside the wonton was more seasoned. I adore their pineapple rice dish because of the smoky taste. Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Fast lunch perfect when you’re short on time. I love to go here with clients and colleagues. Red curry lunch feature is my fav, along with their Thai ice tea if you want a refreshing caffeine hit.

The curry and rice are sold separately for supper time; lunch includes both + 1 spring roll if you dine before 4.

Staff are wonder and the food has been consistent for literal years and years. My preferred place for Thai food in the city!

It’s okay. Wasn’t a fan of the spring rolls they were too thick for me. The curry and rice were good. Chicken skewers was alright

Watery, flavorless, over-priced, and just gone down. Far from authentic, hugely disappointing servings. (And I eat like a bird!)

‘For $22 you can enjoy 15-16, wafer thin, baby sized pieces of may-be chicken, swimming in a delightfully bland, watery curry sauce, without the curry! Yum! …ou! and if you pay extra for eg., mushrooms, you get a bonus hide and seek game, included! Pisses me off these places A. Call themselves “Thai”,—- its paste and coconut milk, and they cant even do that right…B. They continue to charge these ridiculous prices, and don’t deliver on quality, quantity, or flavor. Its turning into a scam. Just my 2 cents.

Food was delicious, very flavourful. Nice portions. I had the cashew chicken and spring rolls.

Service was strangely overly attentive when I arrived and then nothing at the end. Not terrible, just odd disparity between arrival and finishing up.

Decor was clean and functional, a few items about but the ambience could definitely be improved as it felt pretty sparsely decorated.

We love Chaba Thai and are regular customers. But the demone st chaba has been going down hill over say the last year (we find), in regard to food quality. The quantity and cost is still good. Maybe they got a new chef or new kitchen staff. Just little things like not enough sauce on noodles, overall taste of the food. Just not the same. Still good but not as good as it used to be. We have started to order from queen st again.

I have no idea how this places keeps winning awards. Is it ok? Maybe – at best it is just okay – not terrible but okay.

Definitely lacking flavour and does not have the layers of flavour I expect from good Thai.

Friday Feb 4 we came in for lunch, had to chase down a waitress to bring drinks, then again to take our orders. The food came out about 3-5 m after ordering so definitely not made fresh – sitting there waiting to be handed out.

I had the panang curry and it does not compare favourably in any way to Thai Ivory’s version. Boring is the best word to describe it. I likely won’t be back.

Lastly the space was cold, wide open and lacked any charm or warmth.
