We are a traditional Peruvian ceviche and seafood restaurant with a twist

Stopped here for early dinner while wandering around the area. Glad we did. Evan and Andrea took great care of us. Wife and I both ordered the fish fillet, but with different sides. It was absolutely fantastic! Had the passion fruit pisco sour-excellent! Evan brought us a sample of the ceviche,,,,we will be back for more of that. Do NOT miss an opportunity to try this place out. Prices very reasonable. Service is outstanding. Sit inside or out.

I had high expectations for this restaurant after reading so many great reviews, most of them full of “wow” comments and five-star ratings. However, during my visit, the food was just average in terms of flavor. My friends and I ordered leche de tigre, duos marinos, and seco a la norteña. The last dish had a slightly bitter aftertaste, and the leche de tigre was too acidic, the lime juice was overpowering, so the balance of flavors wasn’t quite right.
On the positive side, the atmosphere and service were excellent. The staff was very attentive and friendly, which made the experience enjoyable overall. For that reason, I’d definitely come back and give the restaurant a second chance to try the same or other dishes.

A good introduction to Peruvian food but not the best Peruvian food I ate during my time in Peru. I went there twice and had the Arroz Con Pollo and Mushroom Ceviche, they were a nice lunch with fresh ingredients but nothing special. The others that were with me had the trout ceviche and enjoyed those, so it seems that the dishes might be down to personal taste and that some are just better than the other.
Their mock tail drinks were delicious however, especially the Red Lover.
Also before your main meal they offer a little free appetiser which is a nice bonus!
Side note, they do encourage you to leave a review at the end of the meal.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Josue was an excellent server. He explained what traditional Peruvian foods they have to offer and complimented our meal with some samples.

Cevichería Barra Maretazo has a lot going for it. Tasty, inexpensive Peruvian dishes, personable staff (our server, Josue, was fun and efficient) and a comfortable patio. We went for the “pick two” menu which offered a choice of classic dishes and a pisco sour for 60 sols, which, considering the portion size, I thought was a bargain. A single order for my wife and I would have been sufficient! We’ll be back.

We had an excellent experience at Barra Maretazo. The food was exceptional from start to finish, and the service was great. Manuel was attentive, warm, and very knowledgeable and guided us through the menu and gave a wonderful recommendation. We shared the tiraditos and the lomo saltado, both beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and finished with the crème brûlée, which was the perfect ending to the meal.

We had an amazing experience with Milko! My husband and I came here as our first restaurant in Peru and we were not disappointed! We got the Lomo Saltado and Tiradito and both were delicious. On top of that, Milko went above and beyond and wrote some beautiful messages on our drinks and got us some complimentary snacks as our welcome in Peru. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try traditional Peruvian food!

Our waiter Arath(sp?) was super helpful and professional. Just wished he mentioned we over ordered by 50%
Like the free starter so refreshing and light! Very tasty. Our mini seafood soup was perfect so light and flavorful but the size was very generous. Our main entrees were slightly too salty after we asked for less salts. Our grilled octopus was plentiful but too chewy and tough.

Absolutely perfect, if there were more than 5 stars raiting, this place would have deserved it. The food was super, super delicious and fresh. The waiter was a total pro, right on time, good english, brough us one more pop corn-like appetiser as he saw we enjoyed it a lot (the first time we tried it). The appetiser on the house is a great touch too. The pinco sour was more than perfect. The guy preparing the cocktails was super diligent and obviously puts a lot of attention to the details and the way every cocktail look & taste — the result was amazing.
I would totally recommend this place.

Dog friendly local restaurant that was easier on the wallet than other similarly rated places around here. Ceviche and pisco sour were delicious. I got the 2 for one special with a drink for s/59 which is a great deal. My husband got the arroz con pollo which was equally delicious a. We were waited on by Ever and Adolfo who were friendly, good with recommendations and attentive even to our dogs! They brought sweet potatoes and water for the dogs.
Overall, I enjoyed the food a great deal. Will definitely come back.
