We chose to sit at the bar, but our experience was somewhat mixed. Our bartender, a young Caucasian male, seemed a bit uninspired and disinterested while taking our order. My husband ordered a veggie quesadilla, and I opted for the chicken fajita, along with a starter of queso dip. On the drinks side, my husband had sweet tea, while I treated myself to a refreshing mimosa.
On a positive note, the food was absolutely amazing! Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, which made up for the lackluster service. However, we did find ourselves having to flag down the bartender a couple of times just to settle our bill and leave, which was a bit frustrating.
Overall, while the food was a highlight, I hope the service improves on our next visit. We look forward to coming back and enjoying another meal at Ceviche Taqueria!
Gabby is truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and incredibly skilled at her craft. She not only made the best mocktails I’ve had in a long time, but she also made us feel welcome and taken care of the entire evening. Her energy and personality lit up the bar, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her guests.
If you’re looking for a place with top-notch food, great vibes, and the BEST bartender around, this is it. Gabby is a star and a big reason I’ll definitely be coming back!
This spot is one of only 2 places I’m able to consistently get EXCELLENT Ceviche!
We started with CEVICHE PRO ($18). The portion size is larger. You’ll get 3 tortilla bowls of any combination of ceviche. The Mahi is my all time favorite!! It’s tangy, flavored with lime juice, orange juice and red wine vinegar. We got 2 Mahi and a shrimp.
The Alpharetta location has outside seating.
We were seated quickly, and the server came out within seconds. I ordered the grilled Grouper combo ($15.29) (the fried Grouper is excellent too)!!! This meal comes with beans, and I had a frozen house Margy. (Side note) they’ve changed the Margys since the last time we were there. The glasses are smaller than they used to be, since we started going there over a year ago) and the flavor has changed. The house Margy used to be a whitish color and now they’re kind of an orangey color, and a little more sweet than I’d prefer.
Our meal was tasty, as usual, but there was a game going on, and the play by play was piped to the outside. Considering there was the 3 of us plus one other couple (who arrived long after we’d started eating) the volume was SO loud, you couldn’t hear across the table).
Long story short, I told him about how my son needed a kidney and he offered one of his own. We went to Northside Forsyth and discovered he was not a match but his generosity moved me and my entire family that we are forever regulars. We do not go to other locations, they’re not as good only because Thiago works here. He is a patron saint of Mexican food and humanity.
I highly recommend all my friends take the time to order a queso dip appetizer and taquitos from a restaurant where the Lord himself works.
We were seated outside and while the other two tables next to use received chips, salsa, and drinks – we sat waiting to even be greeted by a server.
Ceviche – You must figure out the issues with your service staff.
This was especially disappointing because we’ve had many great experiences here before, particularly with the ceviche, and this visit ended on a very negative note. I expected a much higher standard of quality and care.
We didn’t have reservations so we were on the big patio out back. The hostess said it was fine because we would have shade and fans. It was absolutely miserable with our group. None of the fans worked, it was hot as our drinks melted soon as we got them, and the flies were insane. We kept our menus just to use as fans. There was a huge party that was set up and they were the only ones who had working fans – go figure.
I did enjoy my new cocktail they have called the Dragon Fly. It was cold and refreshing. For my meal I had a burrito bowl with shrimp. I was not impressed because there was so much shredded lettuce it was all of the taste. Very little rice and beans and my shrimp had the tails still on them which was extra work to remove them Versus if they were off. Our waiter was nice and very apologetic but our group was not pleased at all. We have tried other places with similar foods that was much better and a much cooler environment.
