Had a great lunch today in downtown PHX. Absolutely delicious. My good friend told to ask if Carnitas would be available ( not always on the menu) My lucky day!! They were available and fantastic. If you’re downtown for a game, concert or just any event it’s worth going to. I’ve eaten at a Bunch restaurants around the arena and they’re all very nice but this is the only one that I’ve written review about-it was that good.

The food was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. I ordered the birria enchiladas with beans and rice, and I was genuinely surprised—in the best way possible—when the sides arrived. This wasn’t the typical Spanish rice and refried beans you find at many Mexican restaurants across the country. Instead, it felt much closer to a Southern-style rice and beans, with the rice carrying a rich, savory garlic flavor that immediately stood out. It added a depth to the meal that I wasn’t expecting and really set the dish apart.
The birria enchiladas themselves were a standout. I’ve always been a big fan of birria tacos, but I had never seen them prepared as enchiladas before, and this version completely won me over. The tortillas were perfectly tender, generously filled, and clearly made with care. What truly brought everything together, though, was the sauce. It was rich, bold, and full of flavor, elevating the entire dish and tying every component together seamlessly.
Overall, this was a unique and memorable meal that exceeded expectations. It’s refreshing to find a place that puts its own thoughtful twist on classic dishes while executing them so well.

Visiting Centrico was a suggestion from someone at the Hilton hotel across the street. He said that his favorite dish was the Asada burrito.

I went over for dinner and sat out on the patio. If you’re into people watching, it’s absolutely the place to do it. Every walk of life passes the table.

I ordered chips and salsa, which were absolutely fantastic. I know it’s odd to say that the chips were awesome but the tortillas that they were made from were incredibly thin and they had them salted perfectly. This also was delicious also.

Had a hard time deciding what to have, everything looked terrific. I almost picked the fish tacos, but at the last moment decided to go with the Kearny Asada. It wasn’t disappointed. They were incredibly tender and very flavorful. For delicious little tacos with thin handmade Tortillas.

The server was very nice and helpful in making suggestions. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet with some privacy, sit inside. If you’re in the mood to sit by the street and watch the world go by, it’s a great place to do it also.

I’d love to go back and try the fish tacos or the Asada burrito next time!

My friend and I were in Phoenix for cabi Fashion Week from 1/14-18, and over four days we ate at Centrico four times! We sampled the empanadas and flautas day one, and each had a Golden Margarita. Suffice it to say that the margaritas were so good, we had them on each subsequent visit! The empanadas were spicy in a pleasant way, due to the flavors of the seasonings. I really wanted to try the pozole, so that led to our return. Hands down the best either one of us had ever tasted! Everything the staff recommended was worthwhile – guacamole, chilaquiles with over medium eggs for brunch, and the frozen watermelon and frozen hibiscus margaritas. The other secret to this gem of a restaurant is their staff. We were made welcome each time, by Maria, Joe and Brit. Your warmth and kindness shines through your service. This owner must be doing something right to keep his staff happy and loyal. Thank you for an amazing gustatory experience in downtown Phoenix. Compliments from two Metro Detroiters!

I had such a great experience at Céntrico! Met Edson, the owner, who shared a bit about his grassroots story and gave some inspiring words about his journey in entrepreneurship — really cool to see someone so passionate about what they’re building.

The vibe inside Hotel San Carlos is awesome, and the food did not disappoint. The jamaica margarita (on the rocks) was perfectly balanced and refreshing, and the taquitos de papa were hands-down my favorite — crispy, flavorful, and comforting.

Highly recommend stopping by for great food, drinks, and even better conversation. Can’t wait to come back!

TLDR: Sauces were the highlight.

Came here for a change-up given I was in AZ and wanted to try Mexican food. Appreciated the chips and salsa but found the guac to be a bit bland – the salsa was far more flavorful. The enchiladas came recommended highly, and though I’m not usually a fan of them, found myself persuaded by the server’s rec and the 4.7 star ratings. Ultimately didn’t find them to be that amazing, tho I liked the sauces surrounding the chicken enchiladas.

Service was great otherwise, and ambiance was decent.

Centrico was recommended by the front desk at The Renaissance down the street, so we decided to check it out.
I was a little hesitant ordering pozole because it’s just made so differently everywhere but I’m glad I did because it almost rivaled my mom’s homemade pozole.
It was practically tailored made exactly to my gusto – delicious!
They also have a great variety of flavored drinks. The prickly pear was delicious as well.
The owner came to talk to us, checking up on us and making me sure we enjoyed everything.
We appreciated that personal touch, since it’s not typical for the owner of any business to be so personable with their clients.
Highly recommend and will definitely be returning when I’m back in Phoenix!

Jose greeted us as soon as we sat down. He is very knowledgeable of the menu. He made recommendations based on our taste and they were truly good. We got the Mezcal Paloma and Rayu Joven. The Tacos De Asada were good as well.

I had the pork chili Verde, which comes in a little skillet with five delicious tortillas. My wife had the chicken enchiladas, which were very good. Both were kind of spicy we like it that way.
