Central Perk has long been seen as the gathering place for locals to get a great cup of coffee and share moments with friends. With the help of famed chef Tom Colicchio, Central Perk has now come to life with a new collection of artisanal coffees roasted to order. Lovingly crafted from premium arabica beans, Central Perk coffee delivers a rich, full taste with every cup. Could it BE any more flavorful? We don’t think so. So, give yourself a coffee break and grab a spot on the couch. You’re among friends.

Central Perk Cafe in Boston is a total must-visit for any Friends fan, and even if you’re not a die-hard viewer, it’s a charming spot that captures the essence of the iconic coffeehouse.
Located at 205 Newbury Street in the heart of Back bay, the place immediately transports you with its nostalgic yet modern vibe. The decor is spot-on—think a sleek, updated take on the famous orange couch, cozy seating, and plenty of subtle (and not-so-subtle) references to the show scattered throughout like Gunther’s special, phoebe’s grandmother cookies. It really feels like stepping into Central Perk, but with a fresh, contemporary twist that makes it feel welcoming rather than gimmicky.
The food and drinks are where it truly shines. I loved the Chandler’s Latte—it’s perfectly balanced, creamy, and has that fun thematic nod without being over-the-top. Paired with their almond croissant, which was flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet, it was a highlight. The avocado toast was also solid—fresh, well-seasoned, and generous with the toppings, making it a great savory option.
The environment is relaxed and inviting, with great natural light, comfortable spots to linger, and an overall structure that encourages hanging out with friends (or solo with a good book). It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend an hour or two people-watching on Newbury Street or just soaking in the good energy.
If you’re in Boston and craving a caffeine fix with a side of nostalgia, Central Perk delivers. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back for more “How You Doin’?” vibes! ☕️

We stopped by Central Perk Coffee Co. in Boston and enjoyed a relaxing break. The coffee was solid and the cake was delicious. A perfect combo.

The service was friendly and professional, and we didn’t have to wait too long (around 15 minutes on a busy afternoon).

We lucked out with a seat on the terrace, which was nice and bright. Great for people watching or just relaxing. The terrace seating is a sweet bonus when the weather is good.

It’s a nice stop while strolling Newbury Street — lots of shops and cafés around.

Found this cute cafe while roaming the Boston streets. It’s a must visit for FRIENDS fans.
The ambience is so great with lots of references to the show.
Our barista was amazing (unfortunately I didn’t get her name!) and took the time to talk to us about the season specials.
The coffees tasted great and the baked goods were delicious as well.

Had a great time here with the moist maker, I mean the sandwich btw. Now the atmosphere was very chill. You can relax for hours. It’s cool to see friends references everywhere from the WiFi password to the menus. It’s fun if you’re a fan. Worth a visit

I’m from New York and we make it a priority to stop at Central Perk every time we are in/near Boston! The coffee is top notch, the service incredible and the atmosphere magnetic! There are so many different coffee options it’s hard to choose in a good way! My friend and I are both coffee lovers and neither of us picky whatsoever so we asked the guy working (the owner/manager possibly?) to surprise us with whatever he thought best and safe to say we were not disappointed! Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a local coffee shop in or near Newbury Street! We will 100% be coming back every chance we get!

i went to this cafe this AM. the guys working there have incredible service. our order was fairly large and as we were walking out the door one of the guys chased after us and gave us a yogurt that he had forgotten to put in the bag. when we got back to the hotel i realized they had forgotten to put in a turkey sandwich (but that was because we had a second order). when i went back they were there waiting for me. they apologized even though i felt it was not their fault (since it was part of a second order). absolutely fantastic customer service

will i go back again ? ABSOLUTELY !!!

I was impressed by the staff who works there, not usually you have a friendly staff on coffee shop. Even though they were very busy, they were smiling to everyone and very fast moves. I had the cortado coffee, it was so yummy!!! Then I had the tomato soup with the meltdown sandwich, it was very delicious…

From the barista to the random lady, all were very welcoming. From food suggestions and recommendations to random acts of kindness like wanting to take our picture for us. From the Janice coffee, Joey sandwiches and Gunther specials it was all hands-down a friendly environment Thank you so much and it’s a must return!
