The restaurant was busy and almost every table was occupied. We waited a bit at the host stand before being seated, although we were acknowledged twice. The table was near the center of the room. There are 3 areas where you could be seated. One side of the table had chairs and the other was a dark blue velvet couch (which made me feel short). We were given a bowl of tortilla chips and homemade salsa (and not your typical red salsa). Our waitress, Blanca came by to take our drink order and asked us to be patient. The Albariño is one of the best I’ve ever tasted and I was in Spain where they are readily available. We were told that the reservations weren’t staggered enough. I’ll add it was a Saturday night, LI restaurant week & a fairly new place that opened in September. I’m not sure if they were shortstaffed like many places nowadays, but the staff was “moving.” Usually, during LI restaurant week it’s not always a leisurely dinner, but we were there almost 3 hours. Chicken tortilla soup had a little kick to it which I enjoyed, and the mushroom flautas were amazing. We were also given a courtesy side of black beans and yellow rice. I was looking forward to fried ice cream which was not available, but got the churros to go. To my surprise, out comes fried ice cream which was delicious. Our waitress was very nice and thanked us for being patient. We would definitely go back.

Delicious food. Friendly staff. Kids are welcome and well accommodated. Interior is new. Clean sleek look. Our dinner was delayed slightly so they bought us a glass of wine. We will be back.

Welcome to the Sayville, NY neighborhood Cenote (pronounced seh-no-teh) . Happy to have you! After over a decade as Bistro 25 owner Michael Turner has completed Renovated this building. It has a modern, sophisticated, simple vibe. Love the mural, art work, vibrant splash of colors and beautiful flooring. Every inch of this restaurant is clean and immaculate.

Upon entering my husband and I were warmly greeted by manager Victor and staff. The two times we visited we chose to sit at the bar. We were delighted to meet P.J. and Winter. Also had the pleasure to meet lovely Bridgett, she is a pleasure to talk to. They were warm, friendly, patient and very helpful with explaining the drink and food options.

While waiting for our selections we enjoyed their house made chips and salsa. I also did some research on my own and discovered that the word Cenote(s) means deep water wells most commonly found in the Yucantan Peninsula of Mexico. These hidden gems were once sacred places for the ancient Mayan civilization. I was fascinated after learning this because I have an interest in history. The margaritas are named after famous cenotes in the Yucatan.

So far we thoroughly enjoyed the following: freshly made Quaqamole, Fish Tacos, Crispy Shrimp Tacos, Wild Mushroom Tacos, Chicken Tacos, Pollo Verde Tostadas. Casa Cento Margarita’s and Expresso Martini’s.
To date our favorites were the Crispy Shrimp Tacos and the Wild Mushroom Tacos that were lightly blanketed with this amazing Queso Fresco and Ancho Emulsion. Everthing hot is cooked over a live fire. The flavors are very authentic. You will come back for more! And you must stop by for happy hour! I posted a picture of the HH menu.

They have a beautiful room for private parties
that can accommodate up to 65 people. The parking lot is large and private. We were 100%
Satisfied and highly recommend!

Delicious food. This was the ole Bistro 25. It’s a beautiful, modern Mexican restaurant now and the food is exquisite. It is both tastefully prepared and tastefully presented. The margaritas were to die for and affordable. Chips were thick and crunchy. Plantains were like candy. The bartender was a pleasure! Go now and Tell ’em Barsnobs sent ya!

Theo and I had a lovely evening at Cenote yesterday. A warm welcome awaited us from the new manager, and we sat at the bar to enjoy Marty’s delicious cocktails. Marty didn’t and doesn’t disappoint us by supplying super cocktails that made me cross-eyed and wobbly. He made a sour cosmopolitan for Theo, which was delicious, done by switching from sweet Roses Lime to fresh lime juice.

As we started going nose-deep in our martinis, homemade chips and salsa followed. The chips were fresh and had a nice crisp snap. The salsa was just the right amount of heat to stimulate but not overpower.

The food was spot on. I started with a Quesadilla and quickly followed up with Short Rib Tacos and a side of Street Corn. Theo was on the Shrimp appetizer and followed it with Pollo con Arroz, or chicken and rice. All very tasty.

We’re looking forward to going back. Having a nice place at the top of Foster Avenue is very important to us. We’re delighted that Cenote is becoming something fun for our community and the surrounding towns.

Good luck to Michael, Marty, and the team! They work hard and deserve to do well.

This was a very pleasant surprise. Went someplace else, but the wait time was too high. So we happened upon this place. Amazing atmosphere and great food, can’t wait to try it again.

We decided to try this new restaurant. It was empty for a Tues night. Service was very good. The server informed us of taco and margarita $5 specials. The margaritas were excellent. We opted for nachos which were a good amount and tasty. The dinners were a disappointment. The tacos were small and bland. At least the price was only $5 each. My friend had a shrimp entree which looked like a ridiculously small appetizer. We joked that he would need to eat another meal when he returned home. If it wasn’t for the dinner pricing specials I would have given this a worse review. Overall I would go here for a drink and maybe an appetizer at the bar but they need to step up their entree game. Otherwise they won’t be open long.

Honestly this place is so awesome. The drinks are on point and the food is delicious. The manager and staff is so nice and super accommodating. Great atmosphere. Our favorites are the coconut margarita and the spicy margarita, the nachos and shrimp appetizer, and the short rib tacos and beef enchiladas. Also their happy hour is a great deal during the week. Love this place!
