Always a great stop. If you’re looking for a nice restaurant in the area, you have to stop by Cellblock Steakhouse at the Jailhouse Casino. Tucked away into the back is a intimate, and fun experience as you make your way to your own Cellblock to enjoy your fine dining experience. Steak was cooked perfectly, the garlic butter and chimichura was some of the best I’ve had. Definitely recommend this place if you are driving through Ely!

We had a really nice dinner and good food. Reasonably priced, and the steaks come with vegetables and potato. Spinach salad was very fresh. The shrimp cocktail took a few minutes to prepare; we learned because they cook thr shrimp when you order. All in all, a very good meal and good price. Service was friendly.

Excellent food, excellent place! I took my family of four here after arriving in Ely late at night. Despite it being friday night, we only had to wait 15 minutes. The jail cell theme is really neat. Those complaining about authenticity have obviously failed to read the back of the menu. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us often. I ordered the ribeye medium rare with the stuffed potato and house salad. My wife ordered the filet mignon, stuffed potato, and house salad. Her steak was the best ive tasted in a while! Both steaks were spot on and seasoned just right. The asparagus was nice and tender, but not overcooked. The stuffed potato wasnt too bad, but I’d probably order a baked potato next time. It didnt taste bad, it just wasnt what i was expecting. The beans were great as well, i love the bacon pieces and seasoning they use. The price is sort of high, but i expect that from a steakhouse. I definitely recommend this place!

Excellent meal, atmosphere, and service. The food is large portions and very reasonably priced. There is a casino outside the restaurant that is quite smoky, but there is no smoking in the restaurant. I highly recommend stopping here if you are in Ely.

I travel to Ely for work a few times a year. This is the first time I ate at the Cellblock. Had a great Ribeye! Cool place. Update: Sad to see they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter 🙁

The food sucked, they need a new cook that knows the difference between well and medium meats. 2 steaks and a burger all cooked wrong, lobster tail not cooked right. My meal alone was taken off but would have been $60, for that price i feel it should be cooked right. We are staying at this hotel but ill never eat here again. The only reason we ate here was my husband wanted a baked potatoe and not even that was good. Fire that cook and get someone that makes the food worth the prices you’re asking for.
