Tried this place for the first time and overall it was pretty solid for the price. I got the Double Burger Deluxe with fries and a peach shake. The burger was tasty and definitely the highlight. I would go back just for that. I do wish they offered more condiment options and added a bit more seasoning to the meat. The fries were not my favorite. Some of them looked undercooked with a greyish or blackish tint, and the peach shake had an odd texture that almost reminded me of cottage cheese. I probably would not get the fries or shake again, but if you are craving a good and affordable burger, it is worth stopping by.

The lady at the front taking our order was extremely nice and patient while my girls decided what kind of shake to get. To start with the good, we all had Oreo shakes and they were delicious. The fries were also pretty good. Cooked through without being overcooked or oversalted. They use larger straws with the shakes which makes having them a lot easier. They are a little on the thick side but that’s a good thing for me. The dining area is hot. I’m not sure if they actually have control over it or if the gas station they are sharing the building with has control, but definitely too warm to be enjoyable.
Now the not so good. I ordered a deluxe smash burger but she must have misheard me so I ended up with a deluxe patty melt. I also asked for no tomatoes and it was on the receipt, but my melt came out with tomatoes on it. The party was alright. A bit greasy which caused the bread to turn soggy fairly quickly. I’m sure a bun would have held up better.
One thing I dislike is having to order a burger and then fries separately. For the cost of the burger I would hope to have fries included, but they aren’t. Much the same reason I dislike 5 guys (greasy, average, and separate orders to get fries with my burger.)
All in all I will definitely go here for shakes again, but will wait a while to see if they improve the burgers before eating here again. They are decent but definitely not a “wow” or “best I had” moment.

Hands down, best burger in town no questions asked!!! Their menu is very simple. Smash Burgers, fries, tots, sodas and shakes!!! I had gastric sleeve done so I can’t eat much, most restaurants don’t let me order from the kids menu but, they had no issue! I had a kids meal that included a smash burger with American cheese on sourdough with just cheese plain, a Pepsi ( it’s so hard to find a restaurant that carries it Pepsi and unless you areł strictly only Pepsi I feel you won’t get this, but it was there crispiest Pepsi I’ve had in so long!!!) It also came with fries and omg! They were so good! My son got a the same kind if burger but in a regular bun, instead of fries he got tots… They were the best tots I’ve had in forever!!! If you remember when Sonic’s were actually good.. That was my initial thought, my daughter tried them and said the same exact thing without me telling her my opinion on them first… So I feel that was pretty accurate… Everything was cooked to literal perfection!!!
To top it off my son got an Oreo shake.. He wanted chocolate but that was unavailable at the moment and they were more than helpful in helping him select another flavor with their recommendations!!! When he tried it he said it was so good and he said “ she was so nice to us and I think she liked us cause she gave me extra Oreo!!!” Now weather or not it was on purpose or that’s their regular recipe, we may never know, but she sure made his day!!
We talked and give the food a 10/10 easy!! There’s nothing we would have changed!!!
As far as customer service goes!!!! We give that a 12/10 ( no I’ve never met these people in my life, I asked their names before we left)
The young lady working the front was Erin and she was so dang sweet and welcoming! I feel like most young people nowadays, have such sour attitudes working customer service.. So was so kind, patient and informative! It was a very personable and natural interaction! Which again was so rare I feel like anymore!!! At the end of the day yes we will be back for the food, and we will be back because that young lady was so awesome.. But, we will be back cause we want to support a small business that without hesitation something that you don’t see anymore from anyone!!
After my son and I paid for our food, we went over to pay for some gas to go in his dirt bike while we were waiting for our food to be cooked… While we were paying for that, we watched a homeless man walking into the gas station to fill up his coffee cup… ( shout out to a man working at the gas station because he was so kind to him, I asked him if he knew if he was homeless because I didn’t wanna offend anyone.. He told me a little bit about him and said nothing but kind words about that man.. He was so sweet to him as well… I’ve watched the way that people treat the homeless and even worse the way they talk about them as if they are nobody’s.. so that was a breath of fresh air that this man was so kind about and to him!! If the managers of The Shell are seeing this, I truly hope you are good to this employee!!
While the homeless gentleman was in the restroom, my son and I ran back over to ask if we could purchase another meal another meal for him while they were doing ours!! Erin turned to her manager Milo, who without hesitation when she told him that I was doing, said “ don’t even ring that up, it’s on us if they are getting it for the homeless man”… That right there is how you run a business!!! Not only did he show compassion but he trusted in his employee!! She didn’t even have to ask if she could comp it.. She told him what we were doing and he knew what she was thinking… He didn’t bat an eye to tell her not to ring it in!!
Not only will we be back to support this business but we will shout from the rooftops about how amazing the food and the customer service is!!! We truly pray for nothing but success for your business!!!!! Thank you and congratulations on your new business!!! Burgers are simple and clean and taste pretty good. However, it is a bit of a scam to charge you for lettuce and tomato. They call it deluxe. Don’t charge me for expected cheap vegetable condiments. I only tried their fries on one occasion and they were some of the best ones I had. I have no idea how they cooked them, but I was impressed. I’m not from the local area and I only passed through Cedar city once every couple weeks .I was so excited about the fries. I made a special attempt to stop by to eat there. it was 1 o’clock on a Tuesday and they’re closed. It seems like there may be some management issues and need to revise the menu and prices. I guess restaurants in a gas station come and go. Maybe I’ll stop by to try the fries again, but I’m not going to pay extra for lettuce and tomato….

We came here on a date, and met the owner. He was a really nice guy and explained the menu to us really well! He also let us know that they revamped their fries (which after trying them we would say they are comparable to five guys fries). They also are still adding new milkshake flavors, and working out some kinks due to being a new business. However, over all, the food was really good. It got to us quickly and was cooked well. The shakes were also really good, and added a good balance. Would definitely recommend!!

I ordered two double burgers with cheese and two tater tots and 2 drinks to go. Their fountain machine was putting carbonation into the flat drinks and the drinks were warm. When I got home, the burger patties on both hamburgers were burnt. I was their first customer of the day and it will be my last time going there. I emailed them about it and received no reply

Ordered some kids hamburgers and everyone devoured them. I myself ordered a kids meal, and I’m glad that I did. It was big enough and it included a drink and a fry/tot. It was a plain burger so adding lettuce and other things cost extra. The fries were good and tots were very crispy. Almost a little too crispy but I didn’t mind too much. There were tables and chairs to sit at and eat, which I wasn’t expecting from being inside a gas station. I would definitely go there again. It was great service and very friendly employees. The Pepsi was definitely the crispiest Pepsi I’ve ever had.

We’ve been 2x so far. First time it was good, no complaints except they got our order wrong and empty tables weren’t clean. The 2nd time we went was way worse. There was SO MUCH SALT in my burger it was almost unedible. Also is dry, 0 sauce. I asked for mayo and they said they didn’t have that. So I had to pour fry sauce on it. We we in a hurry or I would have confronted them. It was like someone spilled salt in the ground beef or something; worst burger I’ve ever had in my life. And every table was empty- and super dirty. I had to get out my own disinfectant wipes and clean an area for myself and husband. I don’t know at this point if we’ll come back. Just thinking of that burger makes me feel sick.

I like this place so much I have brought people to eat there 6 times already. I even brought my picky child and they got exactly what they wanted.. The food was awsome and the fries are incredible. All 3 flavors of shakes are great but I do think my favorite is the strawberry. They use real fruit to flavor them… I will be going back soon.

While I did enjoy my food here, I think the name is a bit of a misnomer. I understand it’s a pun on “Cedar Brakes”, but if you’re going to name your store “Cedar Shakes” you should probably have more than 3-4 milkshake options with little to no topping options on your menu, and not focus as much on burgers. Again, the food was fine, but the name combined with the abhorrent disappointment with the shake menu prevents me from giving a good review.
