Cedar Shack has been a family favorite for many years. A little quirky, but fantastic burgers. Covid restrictions are lifted, but they are still doing outdoor seating only with orders being placed through their front window. Or you can call in. Cash only. Service was quick but speak up if you are at the window as highway 20 traffic can make it hard to hear you. I ordered my food at the window, then sat at their picnic bench under their apple trees to wait and later to eat. A very nice little set up for lunch on a hot day.
Fries are tasty but could have sat a bit longer in the fryer. Kind of in between Shoestring and Steak fries, with a little bit of potato skin still on them. Delicious
Had the spotted owl burger, Cedar Shack’s famous giant burger named after the infamous impediment to Oregon’s timber Industry. Great stuff. Their special sauce is fantastic, hitting right blend of mayo and ketchup. They load it up with decent veggies. They do use sweet pickles, which aren’t my favorite, but they work well with the other veggies for a sweet and fresh burger. Their meat is cooked expertly on a flatop with just a hint of seasoning from the grill, so you’ll be able to enjoy it whether you prefer built up flavor from the grill or the “just the meat” taste of a grill scrubbed down often.
Definitely a stop worth making on your lake day or as you pass through Sweet Home on Highway 20. It’s a quintessential small town burger joint that can hold its own with any in Oregon. #theGreatOregonBurgerBucketList #GOBBL

Saturday night, diner was empty but the service was friendly and I was pleased at the peaceful no television atmosphere. Irish Nachos are tater tots with cheese, bell pepper, and onion. Pizza burger was basically a burger with pizza stuff. While I would not call this anywhere near gourmet food, this was definitely worth the price. $6 to $7 for food that was edible and mostly tasty. The bathroom was immaculate, which I really appreciated after going to a few sketchy places on my long distance trip. I’m glad this was the place we stopped for dinner. It was good enough to get back on the road without slapping my wallet around.

Friendly service, unique place. The burger was delicious, but very thin. About 3/16″ thick. Price was good, but if you’re a burger place I’d like to actually get a burger. I’ll probably be back anyway, just because the burger was good.

My first experience at Cedar Shack in Sweethome, Oregon, was overall very unimpressive. Communication lacked intensely, the woman who was providing service, was extremely disrespectful and rude. I simply was trying to order for the very first time I’ve ever decided to come to this place, and it was made very obvious that she was extremely annoyed. The highway is so close to the front window, and I was having an extremely hard time hearing her. This seemed to really piss her off. When she did answer the questions I had, it was in an immensely aggravated tone which I did not deserve because I simply was curious about the food I was ordering. Paying $12, almost $13 for one medium burger and a small milkshake, was not worth it at all. I’m very disappointed in the customer service of this place. The only good thing I have to say is the chocolate milkshake isn’t that bad.

The food is ok and reasonably priced. I purchased their “Bag ‘o Burgers”. They’re pretty plain, consisting of a bun, a patty, and some fry sauce. The flavor was not repugnant nor super delightful. I’d eat here again, but I wouldn’t order the bag again. The establishment is quaint, neither ugly now pretty. The help was a bit brisk and impolite…though I’ve certainly experience worse. I was hovering between 3 and 4 stars; however, after careful consideration I’m giving it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

We stopped here for lunch on a day trip. We had the best hamburgers we have had in a very long time. It’s run by two elderly ladies and the service was great. If in the area again we will definitely stop in again.

Delicious burgers and curly fries. The milkshakes weren’t as flavorful as we had hoped, but not bad. We enjoyed the outside seating and our grandkids kept busy. Have eaten there in the past and will again in the future.

Meat seemed to be very cheap and unflavored didn’t have much texture they were put together well but that’s about it. The fact that you have to order your side and drink separately and everything is so over priced extra $2.25 for 1 piece of cheese extra and $3.99 for an extra patty. Anyways it seems very low budget and overpriced especially for the customer service. I get it’s a family owned business but a little more attention to detail would be a big improvement and think about including the sides in the price just a small mark up. Until they change a little I’m not going to be giving any recommendations.

Has the best milkshakes in the area. Small burgers with yellow sauce are always phenomenal. Great customer service. Fast and friendly service. Everything was hot and fresh. If you are looking for a good burger, this place is awesome.

First restaurant I have been too that has kids books and toys! We decided to take a chance on bringing my almost two year out to eat and it was a GREAT experience. Staff we friendly and they didnt mind at all that my daughter wanted to explore and play.
The food was really delicious. But the burger was pretty small. I got a large cheeseburger and it was the size of a mcdonalds cheeseburger. It tasted soooo good tho! Just to add as well…. BEST CURLY FRIES I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!!
