So I regret posting a 2 star review but I visited twice on consecutive days. Friday and Saturday. Friday’s meal was delicious (photo 1) food was hot well prepared loved it so much I returned on Saturday. Saturday I added broiled scallops w butter to the same meal I had the day before. Only the Scallops were inedible and blackened so overcooked and the size of dime or Nickel at best (photo 2) and were only 5 of them. All the food was served ice cold on Saturday like revenge. Finally decided to give this establishment a try and feelings are mixed. The quantity of food for your money is excellent $40 for 2 of us and we left full. Overall the flavor of the meals was good very tasty blackened flounder and shrimp. The fried clams were very thin and stringy but tasted good. However the food came out very fast like under 10 minutes and it was all cooked thoroughly but it was barely warm. Initial bites were good but food then got cool. When ordering 2 of the first 3 things they were out of and I had to rethink my order then shortly after getting our meals I heard servers telling people they were now out of flounder guess we got the last 2 pieces only and hour after opening. So I might go back again I might not. I will say the service was good.

We went on a Friday and at an early supper time.
Seated immediately but filled up quickly after we were there.
Great selection, decent prices, good service and food.
We started with drinks, tried the Winter Margarita-sweet but good.
Then we ordered an appetizer of Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and opted for the broiled with melted cheese, served with a side of ranch and they were very good.
Ordered the Deviled Crab Dinner and it was three shells full and lightly breaded, for sides we added a Loaded Baked Potato with a 1.50 up charge and the okra.
The crab stuffing was very good, potato-always good and the okra could have been browned a shade bit more but the taste was great.
Ordered the Mahi Mahi broiled with Baked Potato and Coleslaw.
The Mahi Mahi was cooked right, still moist and flavors were a 10.
Potato great and coleslaw good and sweet.
Lastly the Burger with Mac and Okra.
Great sandwich for anyone who doesn’t want a seafood option. Cooked well, Mac was really cheesy and okra again, could have been in the fryer a touch longer but was still great.
Every plate came with two hush puppies.
Would eat here any day of the week, which-by the way-they are open 7 days a week.
The server was busy, very busy.
She was working the bar making the drinks and also serving the tables.
Spent around $110 plus tip between three people, very reasonable considering what we had in quality and quantity.
Three meals, one appetizer and three mixed drinks.

This place is so good! We had the crab cake appetizer and they were fantastic! I ordered the shrimp and grits and was not disappointed! I got the blackened shrimp for the grits and it came with bacon and cheese as was so flavorful. The place was very clean and the wait staff were amazing. We will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I stopped in for an early supper. We were seated right away and the bartender came and took our drink order saying they were short staff so she would also be our waitress. I wanted to try the key lime martini but didn’t want it to be strong. She told me not to worry, she makes the best martini and if I didn’t like it she would get me something else! OMG it was so good! I had the dinner platter of fried shrimp and flounder strips, garlic red mashed potatoes and green beans! It was amazing!! Our bartender/waitress made our night with being attentive and super friendly! Definitely will be revisiting next time we’re in Cedar River Florida

We ordered the coconut shrimp and a side of fries for both of us. Originally we ordered from the appetizer menu but the staff explained it would save money as a dinner. The fries weren’t worth the upgrade. The portion was lacking. So we feel that we paid more than what we wanted. ($50+ for 2 adults)
Reading through other reviews, there is definitely a price change as an average meal starts around twenty. The appetizers are around ten each.
The menu is confusing and not organized that well. They use different wording rather than being direct about the dinner menu section versus the lunch. Sides are found on both sides of the menu and don’t match.
The building is beautiful and well decorated. It’s a clean restaurant that also has a bar in the corner. I would say that most customers observed during our visit are in the fifty five plus group.

I love going to Ceder River In Crystal River, but I will never go back. After waiting for 50 minutes to get a table I was seated and that’s when it began I ordered two bowls of clam chowder and two crab cakes. No silverware no napkins. When I finally received a spoon my chowder was cold. I requested silverware but never received it. So I ate my crab cakes with my soup spoon. Now I left without regrets or a gratuity. My wife left cash on the table. I will never go back.
