Friendly local place serving incredible fish and seafood options. Generous portions. I had the clam basket. It came with two sides. So I had coleslaw and a baked potato.

Clams were light and delicious, not rubbery. I asked for cocktail sauce for them. My sister had the fish tacos. The fish was light and grilled and tasty.

Neither one of us could finish our meals because the portions were so generous. But we still ordered desert just to try it. I had the incredible large carrot cake with walnuts in it. And she had the key lime pie. We like the crust of the pie but the key line flavor wasn’t as intense as we’ve gotten at other restaurants in Florida.

But if you’re in the Keystone heights area and hungry for fish and seafood, I highly recommend

After a long day of tackling the ol’ “honey-do” list, my wife and I decided we’d earned ourselves a good meal out. We rolled into Cedar River Seafood, and right from the start, it just felt welcoming. The host greeted us right away and got us seated — no waiting around, which was already a win.

Our waitress, Harper, came over with a big smile, took our drink order, and offered up some appetizer ideas (which we appreciated because by that point, I was ready to eat anything that wasn’t on the to-do list). When she brought our drinks, we went ahead and ordered dinner — she even had a few suggestions that turned out to be spot-on.

Salads came out first — crisp, cold, and fresh — and before we could even finish them, out came the main course. I went big with steak, lobster, and a baked potato. My wife had shrimp tacos that looked too good to share (trust me, I tried). The presentation was top-notch, and shout-out to Troy in the kitchen for nailing my steak and lobster perfectly. Everything had great flavor — you could tell they really care about the food here.

Harper checked on us throughout the meal, making sure we were good without hovering — it’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference.

All in all, this place never disappoints. We come here probably twice a month, and it’s always consistently great food, friendly people, and a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for seafood done right (and a break from your honey-do list).

Decided to try this restaurant while I was camping at a nearby State Park. Glad I did! The service and food were great. I had the fried shrimp and oysters. Both were lightly breaded and delicious. The green beans and hush puppies were equally great. I will definitely return when I’m in the area!

Absolutely delightful. The fish (mahi) was tender and moist and very tasty. It could have used a little more blackening seasoning and spice but top notch. All of the sides were divine. The hush puppies were better than any I’ve had. The fries were nicely battered and flavorful as opposed to bland restaurant depot fish and chips type fries. Great mashed potato’s and side salad. Huge cups of soda.

Great food and the waitresses were attentive and friendly. The portions were generous. I had shrimp and 2 sides. My husband had the grouper with 2 sides. Fair prices. I will keep coming back for sure.

It’s been a long time since we ate at Cedar River. The old Middleburg location had the best grits. I checked the menu online and it said grits. We drove all the way to Keystone heights and they only have cheese grits. I was bummed. Why ruin perfectly good grits with cheese.

Anyway, the meal was awesome. Service was great. The portions are huge. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. There is two prices for your meal. Cash price and credit price. The credit price was a $1.56 more.

Sorry for whining about grits.

First timers here and it was awesome! All friendly servers and all good food. We all pretty well shared all around. The two little ones tried and ate everything!
Frog legs were a bit salty but still good. Greens had some sweetness but great flavor.

We went to Cedar River on Valentines Day. We still received fast and friendly service. The portions are generous and the food was excellent. Prices are reasonable. This is now our “go to” place for seafood

Restaurant was VERY FILTHY!!! Got to the restaurant at about 7:30 pm and ordered our food immediately and the server ( Bailey who was very professional and respectful) came back after about 15 minutes and apologized because they wouldn’t cook our cheese grits. We actually heard them saying they weren’t cooking anymore grits ( grits take 5 minutes to cook). She was awesome but our experience was awful.
The restrooms were filthy and the whole restaurant felt grimy like it needs to close for a week to be cleaned. This is the second restaurant I went to in Starke and both were filthy so maybe they don’t have health inspectors in Starke.
