Clams were light and delicious, not rubbery. I asked for cocktail sauce for them. My sister had the fish tacos. The fish was light and grilled and tasty.
Neither one of us could finish our meals because the portions were so generous. But we still ordered desert just to try it. I had the incredible large carrot cake with walnuts in it. And she had the key lime pie. We like the crust of the pie but the key line flavor wasn’t as intense as we’ve gotten at other restaurants in Florida.
But if you’re in the Keystone heights area and hungry for fish and seafood, I highly recommend
Our waitress, Harper, came over with a big smile, took our drink order, and offered up some appetizer ideas (which we appreciated because by that point, I was ready to eat anything that wasn’t on the to-do list). When she brought our drinks, we went ahead and ordered dinner — she even had a few suggestions that turned out to be spot-on.
Salads came out first — crisp, cold, and fresh — and before we could even finish them, out came the main course. I went big with steak, lobster, and a baked potato. My wife had shrimp tacos that looked too good to share (trust me, I tried). The presentation was top-notch, and shout-out to Troy in the kitchen for nailing my steak and lobster perfectly. Everything had great flavor — you could tell they really care about the food here.
Harper checked on us throughout the meal, making sure we were good without hovering — it’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference.
All in all, this place never disappoints. We come here probably twice a month, and it’s always consistently great food, friendly people, and a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for seafood done right (and a break from your honey-do list).
Anyway, the meal was awesome. Service was great. The portions are huge. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. There is two prices for your meal. Cash price and credit price. The credit price was a $1.56 more.
Sorry for whining about grits.
Frog legs were a bit salty but still good. Greens had some sweetness but great flavor.
The restrooms were filthy and the whole restaurant felt grimy like it needs to close for a week to be cleaned. This is the second restaurant I went to in Starke and both were filthy so maybe they don’t have health inspectors in Starke.
