I used to love this place. Covid has done a number they are no longer open for just regular dining, and we finally made it out for a special occasion dinner that they offer. It was good but not what it used to be, normally the food is just exceptional. Easter dinner was lacking, ham was salty, not much to offer with dessert, it could have just been better and I hate writing a review like this, because they normally have such wonderful food.

Pre-COVID, Cedar Ridge was a great special occasion location with not only a great ambiance, but exceptional food. As a result, our family was excited to make reservations for our party of 8 for Easter brunch. It turned out instead to be a huge disappointment. Their beef & noodle soup was listed on every menu we saw both on FB as well as the menu left on the table. The soup was always a family favorite, so when we couldn’t find it on the buffet, we asked our server where it was located. She acted like she didn’t know what we were talking about & said she’d ask. She shrugged it off when she returned just stating, ‘We don’t have any of the soup today.’ Okay…well, that’s the one thing several of us were looking forward to. Everything that was on the buffet was mediocre at best & that’s being generous. The deviled eggs had no flavor, the sausage & bacon were both way over cooked, the chicken cordon bleu looked pre-made & was also barely lukewarm, while the mashed potatoes appeared to be instant. The young man passing out the ham acted like he was afraid they were going to run out early because I could barely find the tiny piece he gave me. Turns out that was a-okay – it was almost too salty to eat anyway. Dessert wasn’t their usual cobbler nor was there even a variety of any kind to choose from. Instead, we received a plate of cupcakes – the same kind I could have made myself at home complete with canned frosting. The drive through the countryside to get there has always been peaceful & the weather Easter Sunday was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect backdrop for a wonderfully anticipated brunch, but after spending $24.95 a person & receiving a lackluster meal, it was disappointing on so many levels. I don’t know what happened, but I’m sad to say Cedar Ridge is nowhere close to what it was before the pandemic. We’d have to think really hard about returning again, especially considering the price point. There are many other options out there with far better food for that kind of a cost.

The best brunch in Atchison!! The atmosphere is awesome, a great place to go with your family. It is family owned by Benedictine alumni which gives it a special hospitable vibe. The place is buffet style but they give you a drink first and whatever kind of eggs you like. They cook eggs on each person’s order so they are hot. The buffet food is always good. Meats are always tender and savory and don’t get me started on the sweets

Cedar Ridge Catering and Banquet Hall is a great place for weekend brunch. The food is just like home cooking and the service is excellent; Midwestern hospitality at it’s finest. Prices were fair and the place was very casual and family-friendly. A little off the beaten path but well worth it!

We love Cedar Ridge! The food is phenomenal, the service is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. The Saturday night menu is delicious, with salad, chicken noodle soup (homemade!), parmesan rolls, baked potatoes, green beans, lemon pepper chicken, pulled pork, brisket, and cobbler with ice cream for dessert! You certainly won’t leave hungry!

After a somewhat long and concerning drive, we arrived at Cedar Ridge only to find a small sign on the door that said no inside dining. WOW. What a complete waste of time. I can’t comment on their service, but they could have put a notice up on their sign out on 318 and 7. Would have saved us quite a bit of time. OR when we googled them, it said nothing about that. PLEASE let your customers know you are not doing inside dining.
