The Brown Bottle was a fabulous place to grab a team dinner! The atmosphere gives supper club vibes, but with a modern take. We had several appetizers, including the cheesy garlic bread and the crab dip, all of which were amazing! For my entree I chose the Peppered Bacon Pasta, which was

Had a great time getting dinner here for my wife’s birthday. Service was great, our waitress was kind, quick to bring our food/drinks, and did not check on us too much/not enough.

Ordered the peppered bacon pasta. Absolutely disgusting. Like if you made spaghetti and then dumped a whole jar of honey into it. Gross. Barely ate it. Order tiramisu to go. It was a glob of whip cream on top of a slice of lady finger. This place used to be the best Italian in town, but it’s been a long time since it has been very good. Nobody in our group of 10 was happy with their food. Manager did not offer anything to make right. Actually tried to give me my meal (that I hated) in a Togo box. Will not be dining here again.

Worst pasta I have ever had oh my LORD go to Olive Garden instead you get twice as much for half the price you pay here. Pasta was either over cooked or old, ruined the whole meal. Wasted $20+, Spaghetti was okay but still way overpriced. Atmosphere felt weird like I was walking through someone’s house. Won’t come back but they were pretty busy, doesn’t surprise me as this area doesn’t have any good food or people with good taste. I’m all for supporting small businesses but some should reconsider.

The food was good. But the waitress seemed to be too busy with other stuff we ran out of drinks. Didn’t feel like we got the attention we needed being an expensive restaurant and all. We don’t mind the prices but then we expect to be waited on. Love the homemade salad dressings.

We were back in town for Thanksgiving and decided to hit an old favorite. We didn’t need to look at the menu as this was a popular date spot in high school, college, and in our 20’s. It is great to see the gentleman that worked many nights for many years now has taken over the reigns. You have not missed a beat!

Very good creamy American-style pasta dishes. The mushroom and crab dip appetizers were very good as well. Our $10 mixed drinks were excellent. The salads are unimpressive – just lettuce and dressing of choice. They should at least add another ingredient or two. Good waitress – pleasant, efficient, skilled, and professional. Friendly and inviting host. Almost uncomfortably crowded restaurant lacking space to stand, walk, and sit. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. Obviously popular, seats are filled. Somewhat fancy ambiance. Prices are on the high end but moderately acceptable for what you get. Overall a very good restaurant I would return to on ocassion if in the area. Make the salads less boring and I’d be more inclined to give 5 stars.

Benjamin (my waiter) was sensational. It was a nostalgia dinner for me. The Brown Bottle in Cedar Falls was a ‘go to’ spot for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, and other family celebrations. My favorite was the Gamberi Al Beurro, shrimp over garlic butter pasta that they’ve added dill to. My waiter got them to hold the dill so it was like I was used to. He also recommended the red cake cheesecake, which was delicious.
