Since 1972, the Cedar Falls Brown Bottle has been proud to serve the Cedar Valley. We offer delicious Italian cuisine, from hearty lasagna to our homemade tiramisu. Love this place! The food is always delicious. Their only weak spot is the salad, but the dressings are yummy! Would love to see them bring back the old garlic bread, too. You have to finish with the brownie pie! So good!

My husband and I came in Saturday night with no reservations for our 1st visit to Brown Bottle. Celeste (I assume the manager) was happy to seat us promptly. She greeted us with a welcoming smile & was so fun to talk with as she was getting us seated at our table. Our server Reagan was the exact opposite. Rude & not interested in conversation and had seemed annoyed that we had questions about the menu. The manager told Reagan it was our first time here too. It seemed like she ignored this information. Unfortunately we did not know there was a seasonal until we left. The food we did order was exceptional & we both ended up getting dishes that Celeste recommended. We will be back because we believe in second chances & sure hope we get someone as fun and bubbly as the manager, next time!

The service was fantastic. The waitresses and hosts were very kind, and they got us anything we needed.
The food was alright, not bad but nothing special. Is it worth the price? Probably not, but I did enjoy it. Dessert was a little lackluster. Piece of brownie with whipped cream smeared on top. The drinks were phenomenal. Loved those.
The atmosphere would have been nice if we weren’t sat near two parties. We had a reservation for two to have a nice, quiet, special dinner. Well, being sat near two parties with 5-10 people in each, the quiet part was not happening. Lots of loud adults and children. Hard to hear each other. Wouldn’t put two people next to big parties like that.

Had a great time getting dinner here for my wife’s birthday. Service was great, our waitress was kind, quick to bring our food/drinks, and did not check on us too much/not enough.
We got their mushrooms and goat cheese with bread for appetizers. My wife liked the mushrooms more and I liked the cheese/bread more but both were good in their own way. I got the roasted garlic pasta with chicken added in and it was delicious!
We also got drinks and I had the best Gin Rickey I’ve ever tasted here! It wasn’t on the menu but after asking the waitress they made it for me and I ended up having a couple. Was a great time.

Get in and get out! Phenomenal food, disgusting service. We were seated right away. The server took our orders but never came back to offer another drink or refill the water, I wanted a second drink. She completely forgot our appetizer and brought the food. There were about six open tables and she seated a family with a baby next to a table for two, there was plenty of space to put that family with the baby separate from the other tables. Then she only took one of our dessert orders and ran off. I tried to order an espresso but she never brought it, she just brought the check and charged for it! This place wants you in and out, don’t buy all the foods you want to try, don’t have a second drink, just get in and get out and eat fast, no seconds, no apps, and don’t go there to try to enjoy a night out without the kids

Celebrated anniversary number 20 and had a pretty typical experience as we have eaten here before. Service was great, atmosphere was great, but my pasta was room temp at best. I could have asked for it to be warmed up but ate just enough to get full and took the rest home. Not a reason not to go back, just a slight bummer.

I always order lasagna @ CF location (downtown & CF are 2 different different owners & recipes) Lasagna is only common one. I tried the goat cheese lasagna. It should not be called lasagna. Its “pie” Heavy marinara baked on top. Soupy middle (puddle) of goat cheese. And spicy (heat) sausage.
Honestly not what I expected & didnt eat 1/2 of it & didnt want take home:( I would say, my opinion, it was the worst thing I have ever eaten there. I write alot of positive reviews. I prefer to avoid negative. Everyone has “off” days. But this is consistent item on their menu. It is a great atmosphere. (Note 2 levels- make reservations if yiu cant do stairs) We had a wonderful waitress. Two others ordered manicotti & didnt finish as it was “mediocre” & little flavor. Sorry but we are local & 7 of us choose Waterloo location more often. Not to say all food is disappointing. But last night outside of 2 ordering tried & true lasagna. The rest of us were quite disappointed.

Got in without reservations for 2. Pretty good service. I had shrimp Alfredo it was very good flavor. To add shrimp was $7 and only got 5 shrimp so I was less impressed with that. Raspberry lemonade was also very good

The Brown Bottle was a fabulous place to grab a team dinner! The atmosphere gives supper club vibes, but with a modern take. We had several appetizers, including the cheesy garlic bread and the crab dip, all of which were amazing! For my entree I chose the Peppered Bacon Pasta, which was
peppered bacon, chicken, and green onions with campanelle pasta in a creamy sauce with a touch of sweetness. It was amazing both fresh and leftover! For dessert, they had lemon cheesecake as their special. It was perfect to say the least! A strong lemon flavor throughout the cheesecake with a perfectly done crust!
I will definitely be coming back!
