If you like beef sandwiches you have to come here and try their classic Ruben! The corned beef is delicious and the bread is baked fresh everyday. I also tried the Russian ruben which was tasty but not as good as the classic. Sandwiches come with your choice of a side dish, pasta salad and potato salad are both solid options. My only complaint is that it wish the sandwiches had a little more meat for the price.

Awesome staff and mind‑reading service. The second we even thought about extra napkins, they appeared like they had psychic powers.Food was fantastic: I crushed a Reuben, potato salad, and coleslaw because apparently I showed up starving. Still somehow found room for a black and white cookie to finish it off, no regrets at all.

Just visiting for work from PHX. This is the best Reuben I’ve ever had. I wish I took a pic but it was average size and came with choice of side. I got one of their Apple Cobbler. Came out hot with vanilla ice cream, whip and walnuts. All the food filled me up and I’m 240lbs. Staff is kind and they have a great selection! EZ 5 stars

This is our first time. Call us old fashioned but we LOVE this place. We ordered Grilled Tuna sandwich, and Veggies Reuben for our takeout lunch. I also picked up lemon bars, Guey bars and rice crispy bars for snack later. Delicious!

I walk by here all the time but haven’t ever stopped in until yesterday. My friend suggested it, so I got the Reuben, per my friend’s recommendation, and it was fantastic. I’m not typically a sauerkraut fan but I liked it on this which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were friendly and prompt, and I’ll definitely be back again. An easy 5 stars from me!

Unfortunately our food was not good. I ordered Latkes, and they were burnt and tasted like old used oil. The pastrami with Cole slaw wasn’t good either. I tried a bite and needed a knife to get the meat out of the sandwich. It was super tough.

Malt was really good. I’ll just stick with the Stella, and my hubby will stick with the tua.

First bites of these sandwiches were out of this world! Kind of a weird route to get to the bathrooms but that’s OK. service was very good! For a mainstay in Saint Paul it was a true pleasure to eat here. We’ll be back to try the deli. The Sasha and Shayna sandwiches were very good, fresh pastrami.

Cecil’s is a St. Paul institution generations of locals have been coming here for good reason. The menu is full of classics, but the Chicago dog is an absolute standout. Perfectly seasoned, loaded with toppings, and bursting with flavor, it’s hands-down one of the best you’ll find outside of Chicago. Cozy, nostalgic, and consistently delicious, Cecil’s is a must for anyone wanting a Twin Cities food experience.

Had my yearly hankering for some corned beef after St. Patrick’s day. I had been hoping to go to Cecil’s for a while now and it worked out well to stop in after an airport drop-off. We had a Reuben and a Russian Reuben. Both were very good on homemade rye bread. The homemade thousand island dressing was delicious and the sandwiches had a decent amount of meat.
It was a good experience and I would go back again if in the area. They have been in business for 76 years and are the oldest deli in Minnesota. Well worth the visit.
