We stopped at this bistro on the way to Yellowstone National Park. It has a huge menu. The decor is lovely. There are potted plants everywhere. Very cozy setting, the music isn’t too loud. My matcha tea latte was tasty. The man taking our order was courteous. It took a little while to get our food, but it was worth the wait. My everything BLT sandwich was amazing and my husband loved his omelette bowl. The food was fresh, hot, well-seasoned, and included a unique combination of flavors. One of the waitresses was wearing extremely short shorts which doesn’t bother me, but I can see how it might offend some customers. Overall, great experience. Loved our food.

It was a sign when you walked in about seating yourself, but it took me a few to figure out I needed to go to the counter to order. Service was good once I figured that out. The food was outstanding. Didn’t have a couple of other patrons walk in weight of the counter for a while nobody serves them and they ended up walking out so there is that. Maybe during the season it’s a little bit better. Even with this I’d still come back from food.

To give this place less than five stars would be absolute insanity. I’ve been religiously getting weekly coffee & breakfast/lunch here for over a year or so, and am NEVER disappointed. They have such a large variety of menu options from breakfast to dinner. Their biscuits and gravy is THE BEST in the Black Hills. The wood fired pizza is absolutely phenomenal. To die for flavors. Luke puts his heart into all of his creations. The atmosphere is like no other. Eclectic, homey, and calming. They are clearly a young growing family, working hard to run a great business. Pet friendly, kid friendly, and all around wonderful customer service. Cheyenne makes sure to learn about her customers and knows regulars by name. Anyone taking the time to write a nasty review about Caverna, the food, or the atmosphere clearly has no taste, no class, and zero respect for local business owners. Cheyenne and Luke run a beautiful restaurant. It is the only place I feel welcome each time, without judgement. I get work done here for hours without bother, receive nothing but smiles, and fantastic food and coffee. I can’t imagine ever being disappointed. To write a bad review for this establishment would be true insanity. Thank you Luke and Cheyenne for all your hard work, always!

Stopped in early Sat morning for breakfast. The coffee, breakfast sandwich and biscuits and gravy were delicious. This establishment is run by what appears to be a very hard working young couple. A rare find in this day and age. This place totally deserves your business.

This place is an absolute GEM – we couldn’t have stumbled on anything better. A cool young couple owns and runs it, their family did all the metal and woodwork, the sweets are local, their pups are adorable, they have fresh, healthy food options that are delicious, great cold brew, their decor is curated by local artists, they have a fireplace, games and a great shaded patio and drive through. BRAVO!

Super yummy and friendly coffee shop. I didn’t get a pic of the bagel sandwich because after the first bite I couldn’t put it down. The coffee was an excellent roast. Very smooth and not too acidic. When we come back to South Dakota this will be a must stop again. Thank you!
