Tonight I went to try out Cave Bistro because of their gluten free menu and was ordering takeout at work, so honestly I wasnt sure what to expect. I ordered “The Bison, The Duck and The Egg” and it was phenomenal.
The bison burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, thanks to the duck fat folded into the meat—a total game changer for lean protein. Topping it with a fried egg and a generous portion of fresh avocado added a richness that paired perfectly with the sweetness of the sweet potato hash browns underneath.
I also appreciated the side of seasonal greens; they were fresh, vibrant, and felt like a thoughtful addition rather than an afterthought. It’s rare to find a place that balances indulgence with high-quality, real-food ingredients so well.
Highlights:
Unique Flavor Profile: The bison and duck fat combo is a must-try.
Freshness: You can tell the ingredients (especially the avocado and greens) are top-tier.
Presentation: Even in a to-go container, the meal looked appetizing and well-assembled.
This has to be the highest quality take out I’ve ever ordered. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu and look forward to trying their in dining experience!

Went for Valentines Day, made reservations, and place is located off main street, old building, but nice charm, vibe is very relaxing and wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive without being over the top. Food was delicious and the fact that everything is Gluten free is astounding. They had a caramel chocolate dessert with salty top, it was that good

The service was outstanding, and the food was incredibly delicious—every bite was full of flavor and clearly prepared with care. The staff were welcoming and friendly, creating a relaxed and cozy atmosphere that made me feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable instantly, whether you’re with friends, family, or dining alone. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality.

After an amazing day at the beach in Belmar, I was looking for a place to eat before making the trek northward on the Parkway, and after checking out the menu, I was very excited to check out Cavé Bistro. Before driving over (less than 5 minutes from the beach) I called to see what the wait time was, especially being Labor Day weekend. The hostess told me they were booked until 7:30pm (I called around 5:30pm) so my party agreed the wait was too long for us, so we started looking elsewhere. To our surprise, the hostess called us back in about 2 minutes saying she could have a table immediately ready for us if we were willing to sit outside. The temperature was very pleasant, so we actually loved the idea of eating outside, so we agreed to the outdoor table, and drove right over. Upon being seated, we were informed by our server all ingredients are “farm to table” and gluten free. After a quick perusing the menu, we decided on grilled octopus and two orders of crab cakes for appetizers and we all decided on different specials for our mains. I opted for the seafood special, which was a seared tuna, and my friend and her mother chose the steak special, which was a similar cut to a hanger steak. We all agreed, the highlight of all ordered food was the grilled octopus. The meat was so soft, and had just the perfect about of char on it. We actually wished we got two orders of the octopus versus the crab cakes. Crab cakes were bad, they were quite meaty, but when compared to that octopus, the winning dish was clear. My seared tuna was cooked and seasoned well…again having that nice char with being nice and raw in the center. The steaks were also well cooked at medium (my friend’s mom did want her’s cooked slightly more after receiving it) and they felt the meat was under seasoned (as in essentially plain). The steak was topped with a very potent garlic infused butter/spread which they personally were not a fan of. I actually ended up eating my friend’s dish, I thought it was good, though I could understand her feeling of the steak lacking flavor. It was well cooked though. Overall I felt the food was good, I would come back to sample more of the menu. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party. Food was a bit on the pricey side, but you expect that for a farm to table experience.

BANGIN!!! Saw this place on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and so glad we made the trip! The burger/fries combo was one of the best I’ve ever had. My daughter ordered the grass—fed steak and it was delicious (cooked perfectly). We will be back!

Love love love! I love that they are 100% gluten free, dairy free options, and some refined sugar free options, that’s hard to come by around here. I also love that their food is wholesome and their flavor combinations are wonderful. I was here once in 2015 and then again in 2023 to celebrate and everyone working there was so nice and helpful when choosing a dish to get. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy everything, knowing it is safe for me to consume!

Not fancy, but comfortable. Friendly service. And the food — comfort food elevated. We had a unique Caesar salad, excellent crab cake, a marrow burger, and, the star of the show, braised short rib. All paired with a nice Pinot Noir. Our first time dining here and we will, most certainly, return. Every bite was delicious.

We had dinner here at 6 pm on a Saturday night. We will never return or recommend this restaurant, and frankly don’t understand all the glowing reviews.
The restaurant is relatively small and the tables are nicely spaced apart. However the acoustics are not good, and the restaurant was noisy even though it was only about 3/4 full. The wooden chairs had no cushions and were not comfortable to sit in.
This is gluten free farm to table with some nice selections, but a very limited menu. It’s also BYOB.
Service was okay, but there was not sufficient wait time between our soup and salad and the main course. It felt rushed, with dinner coming out about 10 minutes afterwards. Worse, even though my wife has food allergies, the restaurant refused to accommodate them. No substitutions of any kind allowed. All she wanted to do was exchange mashed potatoes for a vegetable, but instead had to order the vegetable as a separate side.
The bibb salad and soup were okay though nothing special. The swordfish dinners were very good, though nothing special about the presentation as we have seen at other farm to table restaurants.
There is zero ambiance here. This reminded us of a cafe from the ’70s in terms of decor. This is not a place where you really want to linger over dinner. However the prices are the same as at a fine dining restaurant.
Bottom line: This was very disappointing on many levels– the refusal to accommodate food allergies, the high noise level, the complete lack of ambiance, and fine dining prices for a restaurant that was anything but that.

The octopus is grilled to perfection. We ordered it both times we were there. The duck breast is good, but a tad undercooked, for my preference. The day’s swordfish special was tasty.

We were driving through the area and were excited to stop at Cavé Bistro. The appeal was simply that everything on the menu is glutes free. But I was so overwhelmed by how delicious the dishes were! I had the grass-fed brisket wrap and it was delicious. We also tried the cheesecake- it was delicious (rich but yummy!). The chocolate chip cookies are also vegan- tasted a hint of coconut as well, fyi. We all loved our meals- I would return to the area just to eat here.
