The service was good. The salad was a normal salad. Blooming onion was good and came with the meal also a loaf of bread. The steaks had way too much salt and was all I tasted. The ribeye was cooked medium, I asked for medium rare. I still can’t believe how much salt was on the steaks. I thought it was just mine, however I tasted my wife’s and it was the same.

This is my first visit to Cattle Stampede Steakhouse. When I was in Scottsdale several years ago it was Sizzlin Steak house. At that time they had a buffet and steaks too. As I remember it, when I visit last time the AC was out in most of the restaurant, like it was today. The buffet was fair at best. Chicken sat too long, lettuce limp and mushy. I had hoped that it had improved, just the name seems to have change.

The meat on the buffet looked like it had been sitting there all day so we decided to order from the menu. I ordered a steak cooked Medium and my husband ordered his Medium Rare. The Medium steak was a little tough but the Medium Rare was good and had great flavor. Heads up on the baked potato, It comes already LOADED with butter. So, you may need to request yours come without butter. The service was ok, our waitress could have been a little more friendly.

We were really looking forward to this restaurant opening in place of the Western Sizzling. We were sadly disappointed though. They have beer but, nothing on tap. That was the best part outside of the service. The food is sub par, not even as good as the older name…. The ribeye was mostly fat and was not cooked to order. My wife ordered a ribeye and got a sirloin. The blooming onion was worth the price of zero, horribly greasy and served like it had been sitting in the back for awhile. We wish they had actually updated the decor as well instead of a bad paint scheme with the same old furniture. The same 1970’s music. Really thought they were going to remodel and make this something new and better. Sad to see this half hearted attempt. Scottsboro new and would appreciate a new quality restaurant.

Excellent service and fun atmosphere. Bread, butter and onion petals are complimentary and the molasses honey butter is made in house and delicious. Sandwiches are served with a side and a house salad, so plenty of food. The house salad was fresh and contained bacon bits, an egg, cucumber and tomatoes on top of lettuce. There is a multitude of sides to from, I chose steak fries which were tasty. The grilled chicken sandwich was well prepared, lightly seasoned, tender, and juicy.

So just arrived in town and was told this was the best in town. Wow was I super disappointed. First off service was slow, unfriendly and apparently untrained. My wife and I both ordered dinners that were supposed to come with salads, we were even asked what dressing we wanted. That didn’t matter the salads are still MIA. My dinner was the steak tips in mushroom gravy and let me say that’s the only reason this place didn’t get just 1 star. The food, miniscule as the portion was, was superb. My wife enjoyed the popcorn shrimp. Near the end of our meal the inattentive waitress even went as far as messing up a drink refill. When my wife went to check out the cashiers were in an apparent important discussion with themselves about nothing. After ignoring her they finally decided to check her out and when notified about our meal and lack of service offered nothing in recompense. Definitely will not be making this mistake twice. Eater be ware this place is a no go.

The steak on buffet was good. The rest of the food was not fresh. There were no rolls they stayed out for our whole meal. There was no variety for dessert. The cobbler and bread pudding was cold. We were there around 6:30pm so this was not the end of night buffet. Don’t understand why the food was not fresh and why empty items were not replaced. We did have a wonderful waitress named Nia. Her attitude and professionalism was refreshing. She was the only waitress we saw working and she was busy the whole time we were there.
