Very disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the girls at the front looked at my children with clear disgust and made us feel unwelcome. We arrived at 8 PM and they close at 11 PM, so there was no reason for that attitude.

A male server brought my son his food and rudely said, “That’s yours,” with no professionalism at all.

The drink we ordered tasted very bitter. We asked for a replacement, and it tasted exactly the same. They tried to convince us it was different when it clearly wasn’t. We paid for it and didn’t even drink it.

Poor service and very unprofessional staff. We won’t be back.

I’m very impressed! The food is delicious, my mom said it was a bit salty but she likes plain food! The staff was friendly, nice, and helpful. I dont know our server’s name but she is polite, sweet and prompt to take care of us and fill up our drinks on time. The decor and atmosphere was rustic yet modern. My daughter really likes the wall filled up with candles. Lovely interior decoration. The food presentation is the most interesting thing to look forward to. Everything was great and we have the good time! Highly recommended.

We decided to stop in on a Friday night and it was a good idea. We were greeted and seated right away. The servers are attentive and very nice. The food presentation was everything and they have really big portions compared to other spots I have been to depending on what you order. The only down side to me was that it’s beside some kind of store or gas station and construction is going on. Another down side is they charge you more if you pay with a card.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!
This may be the best restaurant experience I’ve had in Newport News.
First and foremost I have to tip my hat to our server, Deshawn. He was fast, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. I expressed no dairy and he was 2 steps ahead of me for the rest of the night.
The atmosphere is cozy, small but well spaced.
The food portions and prices are beyond fair.
The QUALITY!!!!!…I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
I’ve tried the Carne Asada, Camarones de ajo, tostones and a strawberry peach margarita
The tostones were crispy but not overcooked.
The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and the presentation was top tier.
The Margarita’s presence was made know immediately with a pink pineapple garnish. It didn’t taste overwhelmingly strong but definitely a creeper and enjoyable…highly recommend
Camarones de ajo still has my taste buds on a cloud. The way the flavors in this dish come together are blissfully intoxicating. The is my new favorite restaurant in Newport News.

PS I would’ve had more pics but I dug in almost immediately.

This place is my new favorite local Mexican spot. The best margaritas and the shredded beef chimichangas are amazing! Was so good I went twice in 3 days!

This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with authentic Mexican cuisine prepared to a high standard. In my opinion the Michelada stands out as the best in the area, perfectly balanced in flavor. The taquitos are a must-try, showcasing the freshness and quality of the menu. Overall, the food is excellent for the price, and the ambiance creates an inviting atmosphere that is both relaxing and vibrant.”

I just had the best time last week with my friends! We took a road trip all the way from Norfolk to try Mexican cuisine for the first time, and it was totally worth it. The experience was incredible, and I can’t recommend it enough!

I had no idea this place even existed! My wife, my son, and I went, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing — delicious and not expensive at all. We’ll definitely be returning to this hidden gem.

Editing this now about two hours post meal and I definitely have food poisoning. Lucky me. If my husband doesn’t start getting sick then I will assume it is from the steak because that is the only difference in what we ate.

We were really excited to try this place because we have heard great things about the food and presentation. I absolutely love Mexican food and have tried many local restaurants, most of which don’t really impress my taste buds. This one was unfortunately no different. The chips and salsa were fine, looking back I wish I had asked for a refill on the salsa because I ended up leaving still hungry. We ordered the elote (because it looks incredible) and the lumpia. I’ll start with the one thing that actually tastes great, the lumpia was so worth it. I wish we had ordered two servings of it. We couldn’t decide which meat to get so the server told us we could do half and half, we asked for half chicken and half beef. We kept biting into the next one thinking it’d be beef but they were all chicken, which was fine because they were very good. The elote was one of the most disappointing parts, it seems that presentation takes priority over flavor. The corn was just kind of soggy and extremely bland underneath of their mayo butter mixture or whatever they use, like not even a touch of flavor. The little cup of cheese they brought to top it with was literally 1/3 full and not enough cheese for even two of the pieces. I’m confused by what seem to be crushed hot Cheetos or something as a topping as well, I did not enjoy that at all. We brought the other two home so I can top them with my own lime juice, cotija, and probably some tajin or something with flavor.
Now onto the entrees, we went with our usual comfort meals for our first visit because that’s typically a good indication of whether or not we will return to try other things. I like a good steak burrito covered in cheese sauce with various other fillings and my husband tends to get the same but chicken. We both went with the azada burrito and asked for sides of pico de Gallo. The menu description of this burrito is misleading, I wrongly assumed the rice and beans would be inside. I received two onion “burritos” that had a little bit of steak and the slightest drizzle of cheese sauce that might as well have been left off because you couldn’t taste it at all. The tortilla (I ate one of them, I was too disappointed to eat the other) was chewy and not appetizing, it also wasn’t wrapped or stuffed like a burrito hence my quotation marks above. The steak was not hot, had zero flavor at all, and a majority of it was chewy to the point where I had to spit it into my napkins. The rice on the side was oddly chewy but I mixed it into the beans and ate it because I was actually starving; and having my food remade when I’m hangry is seriously not an option. The pico was good. My husband’s “burritos” were the same but he had even less chicken in his than I did steak, like he couldn’t even tell if his chicken had flavor or not because there was so little especially in comparison to the amount of onions in every bite he took. He didn’t even finish his first one. He described his rice as bland and flavorless but he did enjoy the pico. As far as our comfort meals go, I’d never order it there again. If anything brings us back it would be the lumpia, I just don’t know if I’m willing to waste even more money on trying something different from the menu when the reviews appear to be inconsistent regarding flavor. I’m not sure if this means the food is inconsistent in taste or if some reviewers just have bland palates. We enjoyed the ambiance and that alone will get one star, the lumpia gets another.

The food and service were both excellent. We had a large group, but were able to be seated quickly at lunch time and our food all came out in a reasonable amount of time. What’s unique to the restaurant are some of their decorations but also the way they display their food. They come out on custom wood displays that makes the experience different than your typical restaurant experience.
