I would prefer to give Catfish Charlies a 3.5 rating, but not an option in google reviews. Too start, nice looking place, located off the river, looks like it can be a hot spot. Started with catfish fingers app (why wouldn’t you, given the name) and they were VERY GOOD. Next ordered the bayou platter; andouille sausage, jambalaya, rice/beans, blacken Chicken and choice of soup/salad (I picked the NE calm chowder). Calm Chowder was actually good, there were chunks of calms in the chowder, which was good. The meal was bland; I understand restaurants have to watch how they season meals due to people who like bland, tasteless food, but when you are selling a Cajun platter, it suppose to have season/spices! jambalaya had no meat in it, sausage was flat and chicken had a wet rub on it but the meat wasn’t season before adding the rub. Rice and beans had green chilies in them, nice add-on, but that is all you tasted.

They seem like they are a little short staffed but everything was delicious! Nice view of the Mississippi. There is outside seating too. You can watch the boats come in and out of their slips.

I ordered a Reuben sandwich. When I got it, it was pieces of corned beef (I think?!) chopped into teeny tiny squares – and very little of it at that. It also came on grilled white bread. The meat was tasteless and basically a sauerkraut and cheese sandwich with mystery meat. I thought at first I had the wrong thing and she said that’s how they make it there. They did offer to get something else but I had not eaten for 24 hours and was starving so I said no. Even then, I only ate 1/2 the sandwich. She did say she passed my comments onto the manager. Obviously they could care less because I paid full price and no apologies.

The food was just bad! Everything came out dry and over cooked, the meat, the sides and even the vegetables. It’s really too bad because it is in a great location and the atmosphere was really nice. The view if the river is the only good part. The food was just beyond terrible, not even editable. Don’t waste your money.

The food is awful. The ribs and chicken completely burnt and dry, red beans and rice dry and hard. Coleslaw tart. The steak I ordered medium came out burnt and like leather, its was just awful. The mashed potatoes were instant and super dry and had what appeared to be cheese wiz on them. The green beans grossly under cooked.The restaurant is beautiful, the outdoor space is nice. Don’t stay long after sunset because they will not turn the lights on for some reason. We sat in the dark waiting for our meal, I’m sure they kept it dark hoping we wouldn’t see how awful the food was. On a better note, our waitress was polite and kind. I am pretty sure she was used to hearing negative feedback as she was unphased and not surprised. Needless to say we will not be returning. It is unfortunate because it really is a beautiful place.

Great view right on the river with an extensive patio and bar area. The aquariums are nice decor as well. The menu is pretty diverse with seafood (including catfish), chicken, and beef dishes. Wait times were just a bit long, but that may just be growing pains for a new business.

The food is BLAND. I had the sweet salmon which had no taste. The chessy mashed potatos had no taste. The server got several items we ordered wrong. Overall it was a very poor experience and I will not return. Bring back Captain’s Table and staff…that was a great combo!
