Beautiful setting with the lake and pool out front of the deck. Service was great but food was disappointing (and the automatic 20% gratuity figured into the bill already was not appropriate.) The Burger was burnt, the coleslaw was bland and dry as was the bread on the BLT. Also charging $3 extra to exchange regular fries for sweet potato fries is a bit much. I think they need to upgrade the cooking as I can make a better burger in a skillet or on my grill at home. Besides that the prices are a bit high for the quality of food served. Definite improvement needed. I don’t know what these other reviewers ate but it is overrated!

Catamount Lake House was wonderful, amazing! Our wedding plans changed last minute due to COVID-19. I reached out with only two months to spare. We were able to have the wedding (small elopement) of our dreams. The special events manager Lauren went above and beyond. She was helpful and accommodating through the whole process, from inception to day-of and after. Living almost 1,000 miles away was no problem during planning. The lakeside ceremony was gorgeous and the dinner inside the restaurant was beautiful. The food and cocktails were delicious and well executed. Highly recommend!

Just left after sitting for 20 minutes with no service while tables around us were being served. Prices looked reasonable though, scenery was beautiful. Wish we didn’t leave hungry, just wanted to give them our money.

Based on past experience was looking forward to opening day and lunch on the deck.
Made reservations for 12 noon. My daughter, wife and I rode 12 miles from Steamboat to Catamount so appetite was primed.
Seated on time and ordered fried green tomato app and blackened fish filet sandwiches my my wife and I and daughter had a wrap. After 30 minutes inquired about wait time. After 45 minutes we’re seriously hungry and asked for maybe something to hold us over until food arrived. The wait finally found some oyster crackers in a bag.
At an hour food arrived. App was good, wrap was OK, fries were ok, potato salad very bland, but the fish??? Was told the chef had fried it rather than blackened it and would we like to have him start over. We were so hungry, said no problem, we’ll take the fried fish. It was nearly inedible. Fried fish is supposed to be crispy and flakey. This was just warm, mushy and flavorless. Pretty sure it was under cooked frozen fish filet.
The staff was very nice and didn’t charge for the meal, but the experience and food was a bit of a downer.
Maybe 1st day opening jitters? Hope for much, much better in the future.
