Besides the food and the service, everything was excellent. The atmosphere was almost worth it. The filet mignon was very undercooked and tasted bad. The veggies were as hard as rocks and the dessert cake was stale with frosting turned to crust. Very disappointing! Go for drinks and leave.

The location is absolutely stunning. The dining rooms are gorgeous! They have done a lot to preserve the history of this place.
The service was ok. Not bad but not stellar.
The food left much to be desired. My husband had the ribeye and all he could taste was the char. I had the rack of lamb. It was cooked nicely but lacked in flavor. The best part of our meal was the vegetable soup in the tomato basil broth.
Overall, it was nice to experience the ambiance of this place but there are far better places to eat at the same price point or less.

Amazing location in an early 1900’s Governor’s Mansion. The ambiance was perfect with an exquisite piano player charming the space at a perfect volume to balance conversation and appreciation for his skill. The menu looked amazing and my family of four was challenged to settle on a final choice for our meal. We settled on the pork chop for my wife, the salmon for my daughter, the chicken parm with baked mac and cheese for my son, and the beef wellington for myself. All four dishes left much to be desired. The salmon’s flavour was perfect but the fish was overcooked. We all enjoyed stealing bites from my daughter’s dish. My Wellington was solidly OK. Asked for rare to medium rare but arrived medium well to well. My wife’s pork chop was over well and could hardly be cut with the steak knife provided. Finally, my son’s chicken parm was not fit for consumption. Whofully overdone with flavorless pasta that was clearly not baked. We are not a picky family, and for the first time ever had to send food back. Hopefully this was a one off, but we will not dine here again.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful. What a hotel and restaurant. Food was a bit pricey but given the atmosphere I understand why. Ordered beef Wellington medium rare… Part of it was well, part of it was very very rare. I guess if you average it out… Amazing staff. Breakfast was solid too.

Very scenic. Great staff! Great service! Quiet music.
For dinner, I had the roasted golden and red beet carpaccio salad with cheese, Castle beef Wellington and a type of chocolate Marquez for dessert. The portions on salad and dinner were huge,so, I couldn’t finish.
Breakfast was Continental, served with scrambled eggs. Good food and coffee! Great service and staff!

We stayed here at the Pointe Hotel for my partner’s mother’s birthday. The first night, we masse reservations and ate at the Castle restaurant. It was well worth it. ALL of our food came out perfectly cooked, delicious, and beautiful. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and knew just what to suggest for each of us. They had a pianist playing what was lovely background noise. The atmosphere, employees, chef, and food made this very much so a 5 star experience.

A Beef Wellington at $59 should not come out Medium Well to Well done when ordered Medium Rare. We should have ordered the glass of wine when our appetizers were removed, because when ordered when entrees were delivered, we were almost doneneating by the time it arrived. The atmosphere was excellent, and our server was very nice. The “Happy Anniversary!” written in chocolate on our dessert plate was a nice touch. I hate to leave a less than 5 star review, but this is the first time I’ve been to a restaurant at this price point that didn’t really deliver an experience that matched the cost.

Prix fixe menu provides more than enough food. We each had an appetizer: a shrimp cocktail and mussels. We shared a nice ceasar salad, each had the pork chop which came with half a dozen vegetables – carrots, green beans, red pepper, cauliflower, mashed potato, gnocchi, pine nuts. Then we shared dessert, a lemon cake with berries: main course and two options, sharing allowed.
The dining room is perhaps the most beautiful in Vermont, set in an old stone mansion with exquisite woodwork and decorative plaster. Quiet, with gracious service. On a chilly spring evening, the fire in the fireplace added to the coziness of the experience.

Such a beautiful place it is… Food is delicious and serving size is big. One dish is enough for 2 adults. Staff is so friendly and nice. One can visit this place any time of the year. It is super cool place to have some romantic dinner…

Worst food ever! When the salad is salty you know you’re in for a bad dining experience. We ordered the salmon and the lamb and it was salted beyond recognition, and was accompanied with school cafeteria style vegetables. The appetizers the bruschetta is by far the worst item on the menu. Never in my life have I had warm bruschetta, and when I ask for an explanation I’m told it’s more of a pizza. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs, because the price point definitely did not match the quality of the food. If I could give a lower rating I would I cannot stress how bad this food was. Avoid this place for your own sake.
