My first time eating here, went around lunchtime. The service was fast. The food was good and the drinks are strong. Will definitely revisit again.

This is my second visit to this Mexican restaurant. This visit we came on a Saturday around 6:45pm and had to wait about 10 minutes. Menu has a large variety – there were several things I wanted to try.

I got the grilled chicken with pineapple which came out like sizzling fajitas (Yum!) lots of grilled onions. It came with a side of rice, lettuce / guacamole/ tomato mixture (very little guac, almost non-existent). Definitely could’ve used more guac but overall it was still a good dish. I also ordered a corn tortilla taco à la la cart, which was delicious.

Two of our party ordered a burrito, which was very good – one had steak the other had a steak and chicken mixture. Covered in cheese sauce. Skinny margaritas was enjoyed. The chips & salsa are very good,

It take a bit of time to get serviced 1 to place our order and receive the food. I chalk that up to it was very busy. Overall, I do recommend eating here!

My third visit was equally good. It does take a bit to get your food but it’s tasty and you have free Chind & salsa to eat while you wait. I love the hard tacos!

My pico was perhaps old ? Tomatoes appeared translucent. So I asked for some tomatoes. Both of these items were in a small souffle cup – cost a dollar ea. Not too impressive

They got the tortilla chips right. Doesn’t look as though they were cooked in house

Long but worth the read Pros & Cons! Was looking for real, authentic Mexican food. Based on reviews came here. The atmosphere was nice, the booths are a little tight, very clean establishment. Our waitress was pleasant (can’t remember her name). The food, not so good. It tastes like regular chain restaurant Mexican food. I had the Beef barria tacos, the meat was roast. It lacked flavor & spice and was very dry. I was expecting more & was very disappointed. The black beans were very tasty tho. The cilantro was dried out & not fresh, but once you add it to the barria sauce & squeeze in the lime, it helps give it flavor. My spouse had the chicken fajita salad. We were able to count 3 pieces of chicken in the entire salad. She basically got a bowl of lettuce, peppers & onions. We hate sending food back out of fear, so she kept it & dealt with it! It was a soggy mess at the end. Extra peppers & onions is $2.50 & extra pico de gallo is $4.50. Would I come back, I doubt it. Food was mediocre at best!

This is my first time doing a take out order from this place. I found it to be very shady of the restaurant to charge a “pickup fee” and not tell you about it. I called and placed an order and when I picked it up, I had a “pickup fee” that they charged twice! Why?!? It seems like they nickle and dime their customers. If you are going to worry about making an additional buck from a pickup order, then I wonder what else you do to optimize your profits?!? Very shady .

The food has always been good, the restaurant clean, and the whole staff competent and friendly. However, on the most recent visit the nacho chips weren’t up to par, and I wasn’t impressed with the sauce on the Enchiladas Supremos, but I will return because it is an overall good Mexican restaurant.

Watch out buyers, the owners are money hungry! They charge you an additional fee for using a DEBIT card. If the food is terrible they don’t offer a solution. They are more about the money than the service to their customers. Their practices don’t deserve people’s business.

Place is nice and I appreciate the calm atmosphere. Food is also decent however the wait time is absolutely atrocious. We literally sat there waiting for our food for one hour and we had to take our food to go. Restaurant wasn’t even that full. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen needs to be replaced or fired. Completely unacceptable.

Decided to try a different Mexican restaurant than our usual. Got here Friday evening at 6:45. Waited 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it. Service was excellent, food was delicious and portions were huge. Definitely worth the wait. We will be back.

I recently ate at Castillo Real Mexican Cocina & Bar in McDonough, GA, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy.

I started with the Texas margarita, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. The star of the night was the birria tacos. They were so flavorful, with tender, juicy meat and a rich broth for dipping. Absolutely delicious!

The service was great too. Our server was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.

Overall, Castillo Real is a great spot for delicious Mexican food and excellent service. Highly recommend it!
