Man, if I lived closer to this place, I would definitely be a regular! Great happy hour specials, great draft lineup and they even had live music when we were there at 5pm on a Friday. Owners were nice and this place definitely seems like a great part of the community. They were setting up for a benefit for someone in the community while we were there which was cool to see.

Pizza was good, loved the sauce, though wish it was a bit less done. But I would definitely get it again. We also had a sundae and cookie skillet, both of which were great!

They recently changed their menu which is disappointing. Less pizza options and my two favorite style pizzas were removed. Their bbq wings used to be the best around and now they only offer honey bbq wings which were not good at all. If they bring back the old menu, I’ll return.

I will say their customer service has greatly improved over the last few months with the new management. Very kind and attentive.

It was a busy Friday night. We didn’t have reservations but the owner was happy to accommodate us. We had calamari, sausage & mushroom pizza, and potato pizza. Crispy crust.

My passion for cuisine and cocktails as well as my many years of restaurant experience leads me here and I would be remiss if I did not review the new Cast Iron Chef Pizza & Bar … of course it’s all in the name…. The pizza is a must! I actually crave it . Loaded with toppings or not, it’s hot , crispy and consistently delicious. The complementary artisan popcorn is a scrumptious appetite stimulant and the menu has something for everyone. The nightly specials bring a bonus addition to the table at a more than reasonable price .
The atmosphere is trendy yet casual, they don’t spare with the entertainment- bingo night , great bands, and fantastic acoustic nights. I’m sure there is more to come.
The service is good. The staff are dressed neatly , are very attentive, and they look like they are having a fun time . They appear to work well together and that is a major driving force in this industry.
With all that said, I’m sure they have kinks to work out – all new places do. Nothing is perfect . Nonetheless , this is a great addition to Seymour and the Valley, and having lived there the last 20 years , and now transplanted to East Haven, I have taken the 35 min drive several times since they opened- and I drive past many great restaurants on the way !
Oh, I left out the part about the dessert….
The cast iron brownie a la mode is scrumptious 🙂

Love the crispness and the extensive variety of choices for their pizzas! My newest favorite is scallops, bacon, and hot honey. They’re super accommodating too, if you have specific choices, even with specialty pies.

Ordered take out via Grub Hub chicken bacon ranch pizza, calamari, and bang bang shrimp. Everything tasted great. The calamari was lighted battered and cooked how I like it. The pizza had ample toppings in each bite. The shrimp photo below shows 7, but there were 8 in the order.

their pizza was really good, if the service was better i would have rated this place 5 stars. the waitress clearly didn’t want to sit us and even complained in front of us that they close at 8pm when we came in at 620pm. she did not come by to check if we needed any refills or anything, we had to yell across the restaurant to get her attention for refills. then a woman (who works there/owner) came in with her dog and let the dog off leash in the restaurant while we were eating. the dog was just running around, in and out of the kitchen for a while. then we noticed the dog was eating a chicken bone and the owner/manager, i assume this was the woman’s husband, came over to us to ask us if we gave the dog a chicken wing. we did not even order chicken wings. after that another family came in and was seated behind us, clearly the woman that came in was scared of dogs and they continued to let the dog run around and run by our tables even after she said something to them about it the first time when she was sitting down. after the dog ran by our tables again the man put the dog in a office/supply room and turned the lights off and shut the door. the dog then continued to cry and bark for about ten minutes until he went and brought her back towards the bar area. disgusting, unsanitary, unprofessional, bad service. i don’t think i will be returning which is unfortunate because the pizza was good.

Shocked by the other reviews! I had a really good experience last night. We were immediately greeted upon arrival and were given popcorn with their own “cast iron” seasoning. We were offered refills before our drinks were empty. The hot oil pizza was delicious and certainly not “too salty” as a different review states.

Definitely suggest giving this place a try, we will be back!

They offer a gluten free menu. DO NOT order the gluten free pizza if you have celiac or a severe gluten allergy. This is the second time we have gotten a gf pizza there and they messed it up. My wife is extremely sick and will be for a few days because they failed to put the order in correctly. After asking for a gf pizza several times we come to find out the order was not put in correctly. If you can’t get a gf pizza put in correctly you shouldn’t offer it ar your restaurant.
