Cassave on San Pablo Ave is awesome. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, and the food is seriously delicious. The pupusas are the star — perfectly stuffed, crispy on the outside, and so satisfying. Everything tastes fresh and made with care. Highly recommend if you’re craving comforting, flavorful food and great service in Oakland.

Easily, my favorite place to swing by for a breakfast burrito after working out. Cassave is an unassuming place tucked away in a strip mall. They have a nice selection of Mexican and El Salvadorean foods like pupusas. Vegetarians have a couple of options to satiate themselves. Their potatoes are incredible, as is their hot salsa. Enjoy the breezy salsa music while you wait for your food. Highly recommended! Parking is an issue though.

I was working in the area, found this spot. Excellent food. The best quesadilla I have ever had. Great tacos and burritos as well. Wonderful staff.

I always get the steak and prawn bowl with beans rice about cream and cheese because I’m simple like that which means picky. Prawns are big and seasoned so well. Always so tasty

I recently dined at Cassave Restaurant, a charming hole-in-the-wall Mexican eatery in Emeryville. Despite its small size, it seems to be a popular spot for take-out comfort food.
I tried the fish tacos and pupusas. The fish tacos were excellent, with fresh fish and ingredients that really stood out. The pupusas were authentically made, though I would have preferred a bit more stuffing. The zucchini pupusa was particularly flavorful compared to the plain cheese ones.
The service was quick, and the owners were extremely friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. The only downside was the lack of spicier sauces, which I didn’t ask for but would have preferred.
Overall, I would definitely visit again if I’m in the area.

The Mama Jacinta is a great breakfast with two eggs over easy, a cheese pupusa, plantain, rice ‘n beans, and the three sauces (green chili, crema, and red salsa). The folks are friendly and you can call in your order. You can also eat in. The restaurant is on a corner in a tiny strip mall.

They make a pretty good burrito. The ingredients are fresh and good quality. The self-serve salsa bar is off the hook. I love the hot salsas. I have yet to try the enchiladas or other dishes but I will soon.

The food was bland and not edible for $31 do not get the pupusas, I most likely will never eat them again after my experience here. PS stop adding so much cheese to dishes it’s unnecessary.
Thanks.

My go-to Mexican restaurant for Emeryville-Oakland border. Folks here are pleasant and the food they serve are delicious. If you want authentic food and authentic people, this is the spot. If you want gentrified Mexican food, head to the Public Market and pay almost twice as much. The dish I uploaded is the Mexico City’s tacos.
