Delicious food. I ordered the lamb burger medium well & it was Sooo juicy, flavorful I’m actually very upset at myself for not finishing my meal but i also got a cup of clam chowder which was delicious as well. The clam chowder not as thick in consistency like most places which is fine with me. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. If you’re ever in friday harbor this is a perfect place to stop by it’s right near the water so there is a view depending on where your sitting
And the staff is very attentive

2022 Update – This is still one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Due to the pandemic its been a couple years since we could dine here but we’re very happy we came again today. AWESOME and AMAZING food and great service! We ordered the Poutine and Bacon Wrapped Dates for appetizers. Phenomenal! For entrees we ordered their Beet Salad, Lamb Burger, and the Cubano. Every single bite was a delight! A huge thank you to the front-of-house staff and kitchen staff! You all make some of the best food and present it very well. (Miles better than Bottomdwellers…I mean downriggers, across the street.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

2019 visit – Stacey, our super awesome server, was super woman for the entire dining room! The restaurant is so understaffed they didn’t even have the upstairs open and Stacey was the only server seemingly in play. But she’s a dynamo and was absolutely pleasant, fast, and attentive to every table even though she was swamped. That’s a true professional, right there! Well done, Stacey!!!
The food was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and delicious! Wow! One of our favorites!

Wow, where to start. I got the lamb burger (which was fantastic in every way) but the meatless meatballs in the vegetarian pasta were other-worldly. On top of that they had an amazing selection of wines and whiskeys. Would love to spend a week eating here and sampling the menu because it seems like everything on their menu is excellent.

Walked into this place being it had the best reviews… we were greeted and shown to our table where water in a bottle awaited us. We waited for a couple minutes to get our orders in. Wife got the pappardelle pasta and I got a lamb Burger. Waitress was AWESOME. She made the experience. There was an issue with the burger, which was okay with us. They promptly got another burger out and treated us to desert and comped the entree/desert. Mistakes happen but they genuinely care that you have a good experience here. I will be coming back here when I visit San juan again. The food was top notch. We finished everything. The food at cask and schooner was one of the highlights of our Saturday exploring the island.

Fun decor adds to the scrumptious experience we had at Cask & Schooner. We had a seat at the window of the bar which gave us a fantastic view. The bacon wrapped dates, scallops, and lamb bugers were all outstanding. The staff was friendly and the drinks went down easy.

Stopped here for lunch on our whale watching tour. Two of us ordered the soup of the day, which was a seafood bisque that promised to be full of various bites of seafood. While it was indeed very tasty and creamy, there were no bites of seafood to be found, nothing but broth, which was a disappointment. However, that was the only disappointing part of the meal. Our table also ordered a Cubano, a rustic BLT and a pulled pork sandwich. All of those were absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. And the fries….wow….best I have had in some time! Service was quite good, staff was friendly, and the views from our outside table were amazing. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Hillside House BnB. They recommended Cask to us for dinner. This was an amazing spot with very delicious meals. We have Steak and Seafood dinners. Flourless Chocolate Torte was amazing ended. We have wine and enjoyed the great ambience of the evening buzz. Would recommend anyone to try on their first night. Expect a decent price but well worth it. $$ to $$$ I would say. Will return.

We were there 20 mins before they stopped seating on a Fri night and they were still welcoming. Between the 6 of us, we tried the poutine (done the right way with gravy and melted cheese curds- nailed it!), lamb burger with a side salad, 3 Shepherds Pies and 6 sodas and everything was super delicious! The bill came to over $100 after tip (which is expensive for our native Iowa standards) but everything in Friday Harbor is pricey. My lamb burger had some Mamas Lil Peppers on it, which were tasty but had a kick. I had touched the peppers and then, not thinking, itched my eye and got the spicy juice in my eye. I went to the bathroom to try to wash it out and one of the servers checked on me and even later in the evening asked if I was ok. The place itself had some fun nautical decor but had the feel of an English pub. Great place for good service and food if you’re not watching your budget.

One of the best gluten-free meals we have had at a restaurant! We ordered the salmon chowder (definitely worth the try!), the shepherds pie, and a side of grilled vegetables. The shepherds pie was a beautiful lamb stew with mashed potatoes on top, the best gluten-free comfort food! The grilled vegetables were really really good! Most of the time, restaurants will give me a few overcooked carrots and peppers, but they did a full spread of broccoli, broccolini, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms that were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. This restaurant has some great chefs behind the scenes! Also great local wine selection. Also really well priced!

Side note: their menu says what is gluten free and what is not which was super helpful!

It’s 4.5 for me. Really great pub food. We had the clam chowder, fish and chips and lamb burger. All really tasty. Conveniently located across from the ferry terminal. Service was great and outdoor seating available. Although wait time can be quite long and we weren’t contacted as they promised.
