This was my first time in Hilton Head Island and I was excited to try Mediterranean food, especially after seeing the positive reviews for Casablanca, but this turned out to be my worst dining experience!!

You’re required to order and pay before sitting, so I asked for their recommendations and was told “everything is good and made fresh.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. So I ordered a mix appetizer plate and mix grill. The appetizer plate had canned grape leaves, canned hummus, canned baba ghanoush, and even the falafel made from a boxed mix. Nothing tasted fresh or authentic!!

The mixed grill was just as disappointing. The chicken shawarma looked like leftover scraps, the gyro was dry and clearly reheated, and only the chicken kebab was freshly cooked, but with no flavor. The plate was full of the same pickles and canned items from the appetizer.

The lady asked me how is the food so I politely told her that the food wasn’t good, she insisted everything was fresh and made daily. I told her it clearly wasn’t, and she then asked where I was from!! When I said I’m from the Middle East, she realized she couldn’t fool me about the food and simply walked away!! I only took picture of the appetizer plate to share with my wife. I wish I took a picture of the mix grill so you can see what I’m talking about!!

Anyway, I ended up leaving everything almost untouched and walking out. I never like leaving bad reviews, but this place is absolutely not authentic, not fresh, and not worth the money over $60 for canned food and the lady was rude with 0 customer service.
I do not recommend Casablanca at all.

Really nice spot. Good quality food. Not a fancy place with full service if you look for that, it’s wrong place for you. But the food worth every penny. Simple modest place, with absolutely good quality Mediterranean food.
If you around Head Island and looking for some lunch I suggest you to do it. No alcohol available, just soft drinks.

We ordered a mixed grill 2, a mixed wrap, and extra pita bread for pickup. Unfortunately, we forgot to order baklava, which made us sad. We really love Mediterranean food, and everything was so delicious. It’s a small restaurant, but the flavor is spot on, and the service is really fast. Next time we’re in Hilton Head, we’ll definitely visit again!

Very authentic!

We loved everything at Casablanca Mediterranean Grill! The lamb gyro platter and chicken kebabs were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The hummus with pita bread was fresh, and the falafel plate was a great addition. Don’t miss the pistachio baklava—it was the perfect sweet ending. The pickled veggies added a nice touch too. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our meal. We find the flavors here better than olive and fig. In the platters you get a little salad, some pickled vegetables, rice and some hummus. the flavors all work nicely together. we have recommend to our friends and we will definitely be back. Just a short ride across the bridge.

On a whim, decided to eat somewhere different and tried here based on reviews.

Being gluten free, it was a little hard at first trying to find something for me on the menu because I could not have Pita. Upon ordering, I was helped along with alternate options. I thought rice would be a safe bet, but the gentleman taking my order was astute to let me know that it contained pasta. So, I was able to have a bit more Hummus.

Everything was very fresh and tasted great! I loved the green salad with the dressing. I’m not usually a fan of vinegar pickled veggies, but I was able to eat these with no issues.

The Lamb and Beef Gyro meat had great flavor, but was a bit greasy for my palate. I was not used to that and it gave me an extremely rumbly stomach later on.

The food was very authentic, so I would go again, just choosing a different menu item next time.

My son and I stayed in HHI for a week and had several meals on the island. Casablanca was, by far, our absolute favorite meal!! So much so, we went back twice. Food is so fresh and high quality. The owner was very informative and takes great pride in his restaurant. This is the best hidden gem on the island! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Don’t forget the Baklava! Best we’ve ever had!

We couldn’t decide on a vegetarian restaurant nearby or Casablanca on Hilton Head Island for lunch. I was hungry and wanted a bit more substance so we opted for falafel from Casablanca.

The guy working the register knew the menu and ingredients. It’s so comforting to know your food is vegan and won’t upset any food allergies. We always love a good baba ganoush but some places it’s not vegan. He knew right away theirs was and when asked about the yogurt he said it is no longer used in their recipe. He also let me know the balsamic rice side had dairy when I asked about it. I am so appreciative of a restaurant willing to make a true vegan dish, honest when something isn’t vegan, and also knowledge about all of it. Thank you for that Casablanca!

My wife and I both ordered a falafel wrap with a single side of baba ganoush. All of it was excellent! The pita was super soft but kind of a thick consistency (liked that). It really paired well with the baba ganoush for dipping. The baba ganoush was very flavorful. Good stuff for sure.

Falafel was great too. The pita held together well and all the toppings were fresh. It came with house made chips that were tasty. They were handy for getting every bit of baba ganoush scooped up. It was a perfect amount of food as we both left satisfied and not miserable.

All the employees were hard working and friendly. I really love finding restaurants like this. A place that really cares about the food they’re serving and what their customers think. We’ll definitely come back when we’re back in the area. Thanks Casablanca!

Really wanted to like this while on vacation and was hopeful from all the reviews. BUT…Sub par at best. Little to no flavoring. Cheap feta. Baklava is below standard unfortunately. Nothing seemed fresh. Sad
