Que Rico! I went in for breakfast and quickly learned they had lunch options too! So many sweet treats from the bakery and sandwich options. I ordered the steak sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onion. It was ginormous!! So fresh and the steak tasted like it was marinated in mojo. The cafe con leche was piping hot so be careful on that first sip but it was perfect! Not too bitter and not too sweet. I also ordered a guava & queso pastry to go. This place was definitely worth the trip! With friendly staff, lively music and some Cuban coffee or espresso, it’s the perfect way to start your day!

The ropas was very good but could have been warmer, just like the black rice and beans. Then the plantains were actually cold.
However the Cuban sandwich was delicious.

The service was okay. I wouldn’t say they were particularly friendly.
We will probably return for another sandwich but a smile or two would be nice.

Horrible service. Went in today to buy some sweets and the attendant was moping the floors, no one else on the counter. She completely ignored me, another customer came in at the same time whom she seem to know personally and she got what she needed. I didn’t get a greet or a “I will be with you shorlty”. She was very rude. I am a resident of Port Charlotte for over 20 years and seen Bakeries like these come and go because of the bad service. I had hoped they would be different. If they don’t want customer to go they should just close shop and go where their attitude is tolerated. Bad customer service should not be the norm. I walked out and left seeing as they didn’t want my business.

The coffee is amazing! Try a cortadito. Tasty pastries. Pair it with an empanada and you have a good breakfast.

I have been here many times, and have enjoyed their food but whether it’s a change in ownership or personnel, their service has tanked. Today I stood at the counter, 2 ft away from the only individual behind the counter, who was on the phone with a client or supplier, but I was not even acknowledged or made eye contact with for over five minutes. I understand if they’re busy in a call, but you have to at least make eye contact or acknowledge the person is there and that you’ll be with them shortly. The individual behind the counter was not the usual staff nor was she wearing their typical red polo shirts, so perhaps this was an owner or new staff. Terrible way to manage a business.

We bought a good birthday cake from Casa Rojas Cuban Bakery. It was for a joint birthday. The cake had only a handful of natural ingredients written on the label, which we liked. It was fresh.

It already was decorated. All we had to do is request for them to add the names and the “happy birthday.” It stayed good in the fridge for several days, too. It was tasty. The frosting was extremely sweet and there was a lot of it. Friendly staff. I would go there again for more of my bakery needs. We bought a medium sized birthday cake, and I think it cost us around $24 in 2025.
