Casa Perez is the real deal for authentic Mexican cuisine in Prescott Valley. The menu is wonderfully diverse…you really can’t go wrong with anything you order. Our party of five enjoyed a feast: corn tortilla tacos lengua, a perfectly prepared chile relleno, a tender pork tamale, and chicken mole enchiladas that were rich and deeply flavorful.

The portions are generous, the flavors bold and authentic, and even the margaritas are just the right size (and hit the spot). What made the experience even better was how consistently excellent every dish was…each plate had its own unique depth, yet it all felt like home-style cooking elevated to restaurant quality.

Casa Perez is a gem for both locals and visitors alike. Highly recommend for anyone craving a true taste of Mexico in northern Arizona.

Friendly service, large delicious food portions, great atmosphere. The shrimp ceviche tostada was fresh and delicious, and the pulpo de ajo was the favorite dish at our table! (Not a fan of the fried ice cream, but everything else was great)
Will definitely be back!

First time here and everything was delicious! Fresh chips and salsa, beer was cold, service was top notch and the entrees were flavorful and plenty! They also make their tortillas fresh as you can see from one of my pics she is behind the glass making them from scratch!

It’s just Americana tex mex on a plate. The salsa is the best part of you are looking for an authentic place. Locals like the drinks and easy parking away from town… But I was unimpressed by the menu for authentic tastes.

It’s been a few years since I was here. I recently ordered take-out chicken tacos. I tried calling in my order but the call went to a voicemail that was full. I learned the staff working the front area have only one phone line and if it’s busy the call goes to a voicemail which was full. I would think that a business like this could have someone monitoring the lines to take food orders. Two tacos a’ la carte was $12 plus tax. Food quality was good but pricey.

We had a huge party of people, 15 people and a baby, come in without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon and we were accommodated no problem! Our drinks came quickly, our server was helpful and patient! Food came out all together and everything was DELICOUS! We had a mix of vegetarians and meat eaters in the group and everyone was satisfied and left full and happy. 10/10. No pictures because we all ate so fast

According to Google, Mexican cuisine is second only to Chinese in American popularity. Having grown up in Arizona, I can honestly say it is hard to find an exceptional Mexican restaurant. This is contrary to what one would expect. As a retired chef having travel around the world, I’ve eaten in some amazing restaurants. The flavors of Mexican cuisine are some of my favorites. Whether smokey flavors from the Sonoran desert, or the oceanic cuisine from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, to the seven moles of Oaxaca, I simply love Mexican food. Yet, it’s difficult to find much else beyond the plethora of mediocre Tex-Mex here in the southwest, which perplexes me. I would think competition would drive quality, as in New York City, where it’s hard to find a mediocre restaurant because of the fierce competition.

All that being said, I was delighted to find Casa Perez! My wife and I were on our way to Prescott Valley and hungry. A Google search yielded Cases Perez was only a few miles ahead in Dewey, Arizona, on Highway 69, and had a good rating, so we stopped. I am delighted we did!

We arrived at 11:15 am. The outside of the building is plain and unassuming. There were only a few people in the restaurant on this Saturday morning. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, so we were wondering, “How good is this place? It’s not very busy.” They immediately seated us, and they delivered chips and salsa to the table. The friendly server set water and menus on the table, asking if we wanted anything else to drink, to which we declined. The restaurant is exceptionally CLEAN, and wonderfully decorated with historic Mexican murals on the walls, tables, and chairs. Staff is wearing the uniform of the day. Mexican music is playing in the background, but is not so loud that is annoying, as is sometime the case is some restaurants. Here, the music is quite pleasant and adds to the environment. The restrooms are spotless as well. There is also a gift shop. So they obviously take pride in their Mexican heritage.

Now for the food. When I visit a Mexican restaurant for the first time, I often order a shredded beef taco, cheese enchilada, and chili relleno with refried bean and rice. This gives me a good idea of how well they know how to season their food. If they can’t get these simple things right, they won’t be able to get other more complicated dishes right either. The red sauce on the enchilada was rich and savory. They nailed it. The beef in the shredded beef taco was well-seasoned, and the shell was nice and crunchy, with a solid texture. The relleno batter was light and fluffy with a savory and rich green chili sauce. I would have preferred a bit more spicy heat, but it was still amazingly flavorful. The refried beans were perfect, as was the Spanish rice. My wife ordered the shrimp fajitas, which came to the table sizzling hot on a cast iron griddle on a wooden platter, with her rice and bean on a separate plate. She was surprised at the number of shrimp in the order. She raved at the flavor of the food and how the shrimp was not over-cooked (as it often can be).

While the prices are higher than most Mexican restaurants, the portions are also larger than most. Neither one of us finished our food. If we lived in the area, we would have taken the rest of our food with us, but being from out of town this was not a practical option.

Service was timely and very professional. Our server was extremely friendly. We will return, and I’m excited to try other menu items when we return. I am delighted to offer a rating of five stars.

Going out to eat on a busy Friday night can be rough when there’s a long wait and a hungry diabetic with you. Still, they move people well here and our estimated wait time of 20 minutes ended up being less than 10.

Despite all attempts to eat healthier, the chips and Amazing salsa took control of me!! I balanced this with a shrimp salad which is just perfect with avocado and several big shrimp! Hubby enjoyed his meal also and we both appreciated the attentive and friendly staff.

If you are a wheelchair user, the front restrooms is not an option with narrow doors and a very small interior. I hope there is a larger option in another part of this order building.

Overall, great good and experience here!
