The food is exquisite, service super friendly, in a chill, welcoming atmosphere. Portions are what you’d expect for a high end Mexican restaurant – ample, but you might not have leftovers. The quality of the food is what you’d expect from a 5 star restaurant, but the price is totally normal for a regular Philly Mexican spot. We came in close to closing and they still sat and served us even though we said we were happy to do takeout. The way the manager treated our server just really shone, this is a place with good work culture in addition to excellent service. I’ll definitely be back.

Is the masa fresh? Considering that they grind the soaked corn by hand right in front of you… yes it IS! it results in the most unique tortillas I’ve ever tasted! This place is a treasure. Everything is spiced perfectly… heat but no burn! Guac, esquites, ceviche, tostados… all too die for! Add great, friendly service… this is an amazing find!

It was a hope of mine to one day be in Philly to eat here, and more so, be able to meet Christina Martinez. After watching Chef’s Table on Netflix, featuring Christina Martinez and her extraordinary story, I was so moved.

A trip to Mexico – Casa Mexico that is!! Just south of the Italian Market near the justly famous South Philly Barbacoa, owned by the same chef, the super-talented Christina Martinez. Same quality as the best of Mexico City: the chips with mole were superb, and the crunchy fish tacos were to die for. Yummm!

Very excited to try the sister restaurant of @barbacoachef. My first experience trying Mole Verde and it was delicious. We also had the chilaquiles and Pozole rojo. Everything was delicious and service was warm and friendly. Visited during Labor Day weekend and it wasn’t that busy for lunch.

Casa Mexico is an excellent restaurant that I definitely recommend folks check out. My mom and I went here for lunch one day and I’ve passed by this place a number of times and haven’t made the time to go in. I’m definitely glad that we came by that time and I got to see what I was missing out on. They have a lot of indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating. The service was very good as was the food. I can’t remember what I got, as I’m writing this review quite some time after the fact, but I do remember enjoying it and having a pleasant time.

I had a great lunch at Casa Mexico. The outdoor seating area is nice. Completely closed off from traffic. I just ordered a set of four tacos, 2 grilled steak and 2 shrimp. ( ate one before I took a picture) they were delicious! I am looking forward to a return trip to try some of the other yummy looking dishes.

The food was pretty decent. They were definitely under staffed. The service was horrible. We ordered margaritas and we had to ask twice where they were. We got an appetizer and ordered tacos. The drinks came out after we finished our appetizer. Then our food came out two minutes after we got our drinks. They never came back to ask us how the meal was or ask if we wanted more drinks. We will not be returning.

Wow just wow. Authentic good eat. Made a perfect brunch and the service was great. The meat was tender and juicy and the sauces provided were great. Try their spiced coffee, it really warmed the soul. UPDATE: Finally got there tacos and woooooooow. The carnitas is so juicy and tasty. Major points for getting 4 tacos instead of 3 like most places AND get being able to switch them up. 2nd UPDATE: Man I can not stop writing about this place. Got soup this time and the ceviche. Both excellent dishes. Nothing on this menu has disappointed me and the service is amazing.
