Reviews
This relatively new venue is a small and cozy spot and based on our experience serves up great eats..
My wife and I sampled the quesabirria tacos, a queca gobernador, and two street tacos, one asada and one al pastor..
Everything was delivered to our table delightfully fresh and packed with great flavor..
The quesabirria tacos were amply portioned with shredded beef, cheese, and accompanied by a delightfully seasoned broth..
Both street tacos were also amply portioned and flavoful.. The meats were well seasoned and the onions and cilantro were fresh..
The queca gobernador was a first for me and featured shrimp, shredded lettuce, and cheese.. The folded tortilla had a bit more substance than a typical tortilla, which made it a little more filling.. All in all I enjoyed the queca but it isn’t a menu item I might order as often as others..
The complimentary chips and salsa were delightful.. The chips were fresh, lightly salted, and among the best I’ve had anywhere.. The salsa was a bit different than most Mexican fare venue salsas out there.. It had nice chunks of whole tomatoes, was a bit more “fluid” than most salsas, but still had a balanced flavor with just a hint of a jalapeño kick.. It paired with the chips perfectly..
Service was great, the atmosphere inside was welcoming, and the overall experience left us wanting to return again soon..
Aside from limited parking, Casa Freddy’s is a solid choice for a one off, local Mexican fare establishment, and is easily a five experience..
We had the Chiliquiles, the Quecas with guiso Verde and the Tlacoyo with Carne and nopales. I can’t wait to go back to work my way through the rest of the menu. I’m so excited for such a great place to be so close to me!
This is truly one of the best new places I’ve tried in a very long time. Go. Now.
If you haven’t stopped by yet, you’re missing out! A true hidden gem and a must-try for anyone craving real Mexican food. ❤️
