The staff at Casa Del Rey were very attentive to our needs. They constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything. Hope (Esperansa) was our main waitress and she did a great job along with the rest of the staff. If I would have time to meet the rest of them I would give them all props on this post. Thank you to the staff at CDR you guys made the experience wonderful and the food was top notch.

Their food is good!! Friendly servers and bartender makes you feel welcomed. Don’t believe the bad reviews. They don’t know what they’re talking about. How can you complain about salsa with not enough salt and greasy tortilla chips??? Their food is authentic and delicious.

Been wanting to try this place for a while since it is busy most of the time. I asked the waiter which of 2 dishes he recommended as it was my first time. Shredded beef taco and Chile relleno plate is what was recommended. I was hoping for a great experience but it just didn’t happen.

The chips were greasy and neither of the 2 salsas or chips had salt. The spicy salsa did have some decent heat but both were too tomatoey and lacking flavor.

The plate was much smaller than I expected but it was packed to the rim of the plate. The refried beans were really good but that was about it. The rice was fluffy and okay. The shredded beef taco was big and crispy but the meat was lacking flavor. The Chile relleno was the biggest disappointment. Lots of batter and it appeared that they included a piece of American Cheese in the battered portion along with some kind of white cheese inside the chile. The sauce used over the Chile relleno seemed like pure tomato sauce again with no salt.

The service was good and the ambiance is good for get togethers and the bar was well stocked. Feels like more of a place to go for drinks and social gatherings. Glad I at least gave it a shot.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The food was very, very good. One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been too. The chips are excellent, you can tell house made. Dalsa was excellent too!! They had hot and regular, both were very tasty, I loved the spicy the most. They pay attention to the little details. Been around a long time but first time I have eaten here. I will be back! Service is great and prices are good as well!! Also loved the atmosphere with dim lighting and old mesa style decor, it’s a lovely ambiance. (I get migraines, so I enjoy the dimly lit restaurants)

Found this on a whim being around the area; SO GLAD my date and I stopped here! Up front: most delicious beef tacos ever. Sat at the bar area and the bartender was very courteous and acknowledging. Restaurant design has a Pueblo retro design that ads to the experience. Clearly a locals spot with locals vibe; but not going to lie…..pretty damn good food.

My family are here on a Sunday evening. The wait was less than 5 minutes for our family of 6. The chips and salsa are very good and they are very generous with the chips. I ordered the beef flautas and they were probably the best flautas I have ever had. The chili relleno was delicious as well. The restaurant was pretty full so the wait time for our food was a little long, but nothing outrageous. Our bill was $155 for 5 adults and one child. So about $25 per person. Overall my family was on the fence about coming back. I myself will be back for the beef flautas and the chips and salsa. I also love when restaurants decorate for Christmas and this restaurant had a Christmas tree when you walk inside. Makes it very cozy.

Excellent food and great service! This food is worth the drive to my wife and I.
We first ate at Casa Del Rey in 1981 on our first date , now over 40 years later this is still the place that offers that same great tasting food we enjoyed as a young couple.

I highly recommend Casa Del Rey for dine in or take out.

I have been here several times when visiting the area. The atmosphere is what I like most. It’s more dimly lit and has old misson vibes. It’s not too loud in there either, so it’s great for when you want a relaxing place to have conversation and enjoy a meal. The food is good and the portions are plenty. The salsa is so good I have to make sure not to eat too many chips before my meal comes out
