This time around, I visited on 1/2/25, and there was a long wait. No worries, I appreciated the honesty. However this is where it took a turn. The young man working at the front was just rude on how he spoke to me. A little sassy attitude. Like he was frustrated with being busy. I then asked if I could order to go and he said it’ll be over an hour wait for take out food with a stare.
My comment is about delivery. How you speak to people. If my staff spoke like that to customers I would ensure my team is spoke to and or written up. This might not be the industry for you.
At the end, over an hour wait in line with over an hour wait for food. We decided to go elsewhere obviously as we all have choices.
On 1/5/25, I decided to come by for brunch. Our server Jeff was good. It was unfortunate that although they say we can order from the menu front/back (breakfast, lunch, dinner) the chicken wings took long. He kept apologizing. Can’t complain if thr kitchen is behind however, if you know that there’s a tournament happening in town and you are 100 occupied, why not prepare. More cooks, workers and purchasing to be fully stocked.
The food was good. See my photos.
With that said, I’d still return.
The restaurant wasn’t that busy which was great because I was starving and didn’t feel like waiting to get seated. The service at this restaurant was adequate; our primary server was nice and did a wonderful job – I don’t recall her name (maybe Mary?) On the other hand, the folks up front could learn to be a little more friendlier when greeting customers upon entering and exiting…this includes the cashier we had on that day. None of them were disrespectful by any means…but a little smile could go a long way regardless if you feel like being at work or not.
For our food, we ordered the Egg White Veggie Omelet w/Wheat Toast, Short Stack Blueberry Pancakes, Side Order of Bacon, and Deuces Special w/Buttermilk Pancakes. Everything was good, including the coffee; however, we weren’t big fans of their bacon. Although it contained an adequate amount of smoke flavoring and salt, the texture was less than adequate – it felt like I was eating very tough beef jerky.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable – I could definitely tell I wasn’t paying Las Vegas prices at this restaurant…so it was a refreshing change for us in that sense. The décor was ok – when you look around, it’s evident that this restaurant is in need of some updating because it is surely dated (just like the entire CasaBlanca property). Overall, if my family and I decide to stay on this property again, then I may consider eating here another time. Otherwise, chances are I won’t drive all the way here from Las Vegas just to eat at this restaurant, when I have plenty of superb brunch places close to me. On the other hand, I will recommend this restaurant to all locals and visitors – it’s not the best restaurant you’ll try in Mesquite, but it’s not terrible either – you get your money’s worth here!
Next, the hash browns were as cold as the mountains of Siberia. If I had to guess, they were prepared by removing them from the freezer, placing it on a griddle on very high heat, and immediately removed. Crunchy munchy on the outside and soggy doggy on the inside.
And lastly, I could observe that the parfait I shared was prepared hours before it was served to us– from the old fruit to the mushy granola. The yogurt was subpar, but at least we could finish the entire confection.
The person next to me also got the Pile of Whipped Cream™ (with strawberry Belgian waffles on the side) and it was quite entertaining to watch them dig through it like a treasure hunt. I’ve never seen so much whipped cream on a restaurant item in my days; I could guess they used almost an entire can.
So the experience was. . . well. . let’s just say memorable. ☺️
We stayed at the Casablanca and decided to eat here twice. I honestly prefer this over the buffet. Pictured is BLT and the nachos! Great portion sizes too!
The steak was tender, flavorful, juicy and delicious! The lobster was sweet, meaty but firm. So good!!!!!
The prime Rib was on point. If they could just put it on a better roll, add the Horseradish sauce as described, and maybe put some beef flavoring in the au jus, this sandwich could be amazing.
I order their Hong Kong noodle bowl with a combination of shrimp, chicken & beef with noodles & veggies. It had a ton of meat in it & the meat was so tender & the veggies were cooked to perfection! I ate 2 HUGE meals off of it! The husband had ribs w/ sweet potatoes & veggies. He loved them & also had plenty left over for another meal.
