We had mofongo, 3 different ways: carne frita, chicharron (pork belly), chicken breast with garlic sauce. All three were wonderful! The meat was moist and the mofongo properly seasoned. The staff was friendly and engaged with my 91 year old mother in law in a way that made her feel at home.

Feel is more of a fast food joint. Food was ok, feed the craving, but not necessarily outstanding. I had the Can-Can and it was a bit overcooked. Morcilla was good and so was all other sides. Overall they have a wide selection of food items. No Medalla beer though, or any beer .

The food here is always on point–consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with real love. Every time I come, I’m reminded why this is one of my favorite spots for Puerto Rican food. If you’re a true fan of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, this place is a must-visit!
The arroz con gandules is absolutely delicious–perfectly seasoned and cooked just right every time. It’s that classic, comforting flavor you expect, but done with real care and attention to detail. And the mofongo? Truly next-level. What I really appreciated was that it wasn’t just plain mashed plantains thrown together–there were generous bits of chicharrón mixed in for a great texture, and just the right amount of garlic to bring flavor without being overpowering. It was perfectly balanced and full of character.
The soups (or sopas) were another highlight. They were hearty, packed with rice, root vegetables, and gandules, and had a depth of flavor that shows they were simmered slow and with purpose. Every spoonful was warming and satisfying–exactly what you hope for in a traditional Puerto Rican soup.
On top of the incredible food, the staff is always friendly and courteous, making the experience feel even more welcoming. You’re greeted like family every time. And let’s not forget the vibe–the music playing in the background gives the whole place an uplifting, joyful energy that makes you want to stay a while.
This isn’t just a good spot-it’s one of the best when it comes to Puerto Rican cuisine. Highly, highly recommend

Chef Lizy is an excellent chef. Love the habichuelas and yuca and rice and pork chops. I can go and on and on. Best authentic PuertoRican food this side of Puerto Rico. Thank you for this fabulous food and friendly staff. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Casa Borinquen may be simple in setup, but the food packs an emotional punch that stays with you. It’s a place where every bite feels like a small celebration of Puerto Rican tradition and hospitality. Casa Borinquen may be humble on the surface, but its authentic flavors, generous portions, and homespun charm deliver a remarkable dining experience. The arroz con gandules will remind you of grandma and it was probably the best asopao I’ve ever had. Only disappointment was that the chuleta can-can was not available, but if you’re craving Puerto Rican comfort food that hits the soul, this is your spot.

The food is so delicious, it’s about a 40 minute drive for me and it is definitely worth the drive. They do not skimp on the food, one plate is enough for 2 people but it’s so good you won’t want to share. I tried their arroz con gandules, Mofongo cups with chicken, chicharrón de pollo, and the white rice and red beans. I cannot tell you which was my favorite because everything was mouthwatering! & the service is top notch, so fast and everyone is very friendly. I ordered an extra plate to go and I went outside to drop off things in the car and was going to go back to pick up the food and one of the workers was already coming outside to bring it. 10/10 food, service and atmosphere.

I ordered the chicken breast in the garlic sauce with the arroz con gandules and sweet plantains, my husband ordered the fried snapper, tostones and arroz con gandules. All I’ll say is.. we didn’t exchange much words during that meal, we were tearing that food UP! The chicken was so soft and tender, the garlic butter sauce was bursting with flavor, the snapper was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
To: Chef Ms.Lizy – We thank you 100x.
