My server, Chris, was amazing friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without rushing us. He gave great recommendations and really elevated the whole experience.
Definitely coming back and highly recommend this place for brunch if you’re craving great Mexican food and even better service ✨
I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always great. The service is excellent, and the food & drinks keeps surprising me in the best way.
For lunch, my favorites are the tamal, panela tiradito, street corn croquettes, sopes & discada … all so flavorful and unique. For brunch, I had a mazapán coffee (asked for it not too sweet and it was perfect) plus the maíz pancakes with guava butter, which added such a fun, unexpected twist to traditional pancakes.
I truly love the food concept here , it feels so fresh and different for Laredo. The outdoor seating is such a bonus .
We started with the aguachile de pulpo, and it was phenomenal — perfectly tender octopus with a bright, fresh kick, elevated even more by their salsa tatemada, which added an incredible smoky richness. It set the tone for an amazing meal.
The short ribs with jamaica and popcorn flowers were unforgettable. Fall-apart tender, beautifully balanced, and plated with care. But the surprise standout was the queso panela with black salsa — tangy, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. The toasted leeks on top added the perfect texture and flavor contrast.
And the jocoque with charred beets… simply to die for. Creamy, bold, and full of character — one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave.
Casa Azul delivers thoughtful, elevated Mexican cuisine with flavors that feel both inventive and deeply rooted. If you’re looking for a place in Laredo that goes above and beyond traditional dishes and delivers a true gourmet experience, this is it.
Highly recommend — can’t wait to go back.
The owner herself is often there to make sure everything runs smoothly and checked in with our table to make sure our meal was going well.
We had the sopes, guacamole, and the mixed steak plate with ribeye, sausage, and bacon! So good!
The flavors were unreal bold, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite had me saying wow. The tacos were incredible, and that sauce Absolute perfection. I’m honestly speechless. This place is a must in Laredo! ✨ needless to say, their service was top notch! Definitely coming back again!
My only feedback would be the poblano soup, it was not good. It tasted like it had been stored for a while, could not take more than one bite. Other than that, everything else was great!
The food? Incredible. Every dish is flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every bite.
All in all, it’s more than just a restaurant. It’s an experience. One that makes me genuinely happy every time I go. Highly recommend!!
The rancheros were rich and comforting without being heavy perfectly balanced sauces, great texture, and clearly made with care. The horchata latte was a standout: smooth, lightly sweet, and not overpowering, which is hard to get right. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy, flavorful, and felt homemade in the best way, and the house coffee was solid and complemented the meal well.
The vibes are very Santa Fe, MX, but with a strong local, neighborhood feel warm, inviting, and relaxed without trying too hard. On top of that, the service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
Casazul feels like the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to… great food, great atmosphere, and great people. Definitely worth checking out for brunch.
