The cuisine was superb. I ordered the “3 Amigos” and highly recommend it; it was truly delicious.
I am thoroughly impressed with this establishment and anticipate it becoming my preferred dining destination.
Altoona, you don’t deserve this treasure.
It took a bit to get a drink as they have their server station in a small hallway behind the bar,, so the focus is on the tables outside. This spot really seems more set up for families or groups.
I had the jalapeno margarita along with the Monster burrito. Both were good. The monster burrito consisted of a lot of rice mixed with steak, and then there were slices of avocados in the middle.
Ultimately, the service was excellent. I know they were all working hard, and I recommend coming here.
*Update ~ another great visit with amazing service. I wish I’d have caught her name, but she was attentive without being overbearing and then made our evening by suggesting delicious margaritas.
I will say the food took a little time to come out compared to other Mexican restaurants but I consider this a plus as we were able to enjoy socializing and drinking our drinks.
If you had a bad experience definitely give them another try, they are listening to customers and eliminating the new business kinks. See you soon!
Decided to visit the new Mexican restaurant in Altoona. It was busy but there were plenty of empty tables and we were seated immediately.
We waited about 15 minutes for the host to come over and take our drink order and he returned quickly with the water and soda but the House Margarita took another 15 minutes. Finally, they took our food order. We requested more chips and salsa as we were sitting there for a while and ran out, they brought that out right before we got our food. I will say the salsa was fantastic.
I ordered the Hawaiian Fajitas and the wife ordered the Altoona Special. The Fajitas were a hit the shrimp were a good size and very flavorful. The wife liked the Special but the put a sauce over the chimichangas which made them soggy and something in the meat chimichanga was rather spicy for her.
I give being a new restaurant to the service issues.
The food was good but nothing stood out from the numerous other Mexican restaurants in town. The one con was the needed to turn the heat on as it was extremely cold in the restaurant to the point my wife put her gloves on.
We will return, hoping the cons get better.
