I attended a birthday celebration and had an awesome time. The atmosphere was inviting with plenty of seating. The service was fast and friendly…the made you feel welcomed. The food (fried okra) was hot and delicious. Oh, and my drinks (Kettle1,cranberry, and pineapple) were absolutely delicious x3. They were the right temp, evenly mixed, and definitely Not watered down. Everything was cooked to order, so u know it’s fresh….All and all everything was great! I would recommend this lounge for meeting up with friends or making new ones!!! It’s a great place with a great ambiance, great DJ& music, great service, with great food & libations

Carter’s played host to an urban fashion show we were attending, so we decided to sample the food. This was a wonderful surprise!
My partner had the shrimp and grits while I had the fried whitefish sandwich. Savory isn’t an adequate description. When food was ready, the generous helping of shrimp and grits also included sausage and cheese mixed in. It was fantastic in her words. The whitefish sandwich was done in classic southern country style as a full filet basted in corn meal and deep fried. It was moist and nicely seasoned.
The lounge is at the edge of one of Birmingham’s more forgotten neighborhoods. Though the neighborhood is sketchy, the atmosphere in Carter’s has a great retro vibe from the 70’s or 80’s but a clean, well maintained look.

Terrible experience from the food to the parking lot being around homeless ppl. The food wasn’t worth the money. Someone broke into some cars including mine and the manager said his camera didn’t catch anything. So he basically didn’t care to even try to look thru the footage. Gave me the run around as if I didn’t just spend my money in there the night before. All I know is if it was him or his ppl he would’ve done so much more to help but since it was a customer he didn’t care at all. Won’t ever go back to that area or place

The plates look delicious on the internet but omg it’s a never again for me. Stick to making the good alcohol drinks. All the food is trash. I swear to god I won’t ever buy any food from them again. Andddddd I called like 10 times they wouldn’t answer the food, they sent a text and said the manager would be contacting me and they never did. I had to go down there smh.

As an out of town guest, the service was not good. I stood at the bar for a while, and the waitresses purposely served everyone but me and my cousin. There were maybe 70 people total in the lounge. I left after 20 minutes of no service!
