The food isn’t the same when Chef Cartel is not on the truck. It was okay but I definitely noticed a difference and I haven’t been here in a few years maybe.
I also had to wait for my order after placing it on DoorDash for pick up after getting there which defeated the purpose of placing the order ahead of time. The server apologized for the wait but still, time was wasted and I was on my lunch break

Unfortunately, must share this review.. After an hour wait and practically room temperature wings and soggy n soft eggrolls, I had too. The one good thing: The wings were crunchy n fried just right… The issue is the temperature after an hour wait and the taste of old grease. I had the crab boil wings n crab boil egg rolls. I was highly disappointed in the eggrolls. They were not crunchy, made with salad shrimp and shredded hashbrowns or something similar. Very little filling inside and had an odd freezer like taste. I’ve been wanting to try this Food truck for a while. So, extremely disappointed. My visit was around 2pm on Wednesday, March 19.

Ordered the shrimp and grits cause it looked good. I was definitely ready to be disappointed Being from New Orleans nothing from home hits right in other places… TILL NOW!!!! I opened my container got hit with the smell of home thought I was gonna take a lil tastseetaste and dang near demolished this bowl y’all lucky you got a picture. The food is always delicious. But, they have to work on the service. I ordered online the other day, and only had a little bit of time for lunch, and delivery was not available. So, I had to go pick up my food. Of course, I wasn’t happy about that at all, but I wanted my wings. Then, I got there, after driving 25 minutes, and had to wait an extra 45 minutes once I got there for my food.

I ordered brunch from Cartels Kitchen this morning, and it was incredible! I got the French toast with crackin’ honey wings, the salmon croquette meal with creamy grits, eggs and toast, shrimp and grits, and some crab cakes. Everything was so good that I didn’t even get a chance to snap a pic. My family devoured everything as soon as I got back home! Everything was perfectly seasoned, and the flavors were on point. I couldn’t even tell you what was my favorite because it was all delicious. I’ll definitely be back for brunch on Saturdays. Highly recommend!

The price that is reflected on the menu and the price that you are charged are not the same. They literally is taxing you per meal on top of a $1.50 service fee , if you use your card which also need to be noted somewhere on their menu. They told me it’s gonna be a 10 minute wait I end up waiting more than 30 minutes… so Your food is going to be dropped fresh so prepare to wait 30+ minutes. Also, I felt like it was unorganized They need to add a phone number system , or something I’m just standing around waiting until Somebody wave at me to get my food its crazy. ALSO it taste like they are using the same grease that they use for their shrimp and their chicken. I don’t understand how I ordered a lemon pepper wings. My chicken literally taste like nothing. My chicken was literally fried so hard and the only thing I really enjoy was the fries in the roll. My chicken had thick pieces of hair Damn near every wing like so upset

I ordered the blue crab and wings, $23 the rice was completely soggy the blue crab was all mushy. The wings had a good flavor but because they in the same plastic tray as the food the batter was soggy. Sausage corn and potatoes was the only thing that was eatable. I wish it was better because we waited a long time for this food @beinggrace raved about it. Next time we might try shrimp and fish. Blue lemonade was good though.

The food is AWESOME, the truck is clean, the only downer is they never answer the phone so calling in an order is impossible & the wait time (it’s worth it but I’d suggest you pick it up instead of requesting delivery).

The wings were amazing. I ordered the 10 wings and fries.. breaded jerk, and sweet and tangy. They were delicious. Customer services was on point and the service was quick. Very reasonable price. Try them for yourself you won’t be disappointed. It was Definitely worth the drive to the Northside for me.

I have always enjoyed the food from Chef Cartel. He has the best wings ever called “The best of both worlds”…. and they definitely are. They also catered my Cousin’s wedding… and EVERYTHING was all so good.
