From the moment I walked in, the experience started on a great note—friendly service and a warm smile at the counter really set the tone. I ordered two crunchy tacos with rice, beans, and potatoes, and wow… these are hands-down some of the best crunchy tacos I’ve had in Simi Valley, and honestly, they rank among the best I’ve had anywhere.
The corn tortillas are homemade, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Perfectly crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor. I went with the shredded beef, which was tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The presentation was on point—everything looked as good as it tasted.
The restaurant itself was calm and welcoming, yet clearly popular, with a steady flow of customers coming in and out—which tells you everything you need to know. Great food, great vibe, and solid consistency.
I’d easily give this place five stars and will definitely be back, especially for those crunchy tacos. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and craving legit Mexican food done right.

Chorizo and egg burrito was the best I’ve ever had. Hands down.
Everything from the chorizo to the beans to the Potatoes tasted fresh. Also the potatoes were perfectly cooked. And the tortillas super soft. Would definitely recommend. And plan to come back here to try the other burritos.

Was not impressed the first time we went in. Went in person. The chorizo breakfast burrito was extremely salty. A week after, my husband was craving an asada burrito. We doordashed them. An Asada Classic Burrito and Carnitas Classic Burrito. They were not good at all. Poor quality and very bland. They didn’t bother to send salsas or napkins. The asada was way over cooked, burnt almost and had a lot of nerve. Not sure if come back only to get again.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I think this is the best location out of all 3. Everything here is great, my favorite is the Surf n Turf Burrito with Carne Asada & Shrimp, and the wet Burrito. The Chicken tacos are really good too and huge. The owner Steve is the best as well as his son and everyone else that works there, everyone is always friendly the service is fast and the restaurant is always spotless clean. I hope this place never closes I’ll be going here for another 20 years..

You can’t go wrong with ordering Mexican food from this place. The burrito’s that are less than $8 can easily feed two hungry people. There is plenty of parking out front and plenty of seating inside. The food is right is made in a open kitchen, I think this place is family run but I can’t be sure…the food definitely taste like what grandma used to make. There is no formal table service here; you order at the register have a seat with your chips and salsa and wait for the deliciousness to arrive. Bring your appetite.

Best Machaca in the state! Food is very good here but the staff is exceptional! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The prices are fair…especially for the portion sizes and the ingredients always taste fresh and expertly prepared. Their menu has been expanded to include more fresh seafood selections and family feasts. If you like great tasting freshly prepared Mexican food served in a relaxed atmosphere by the friendliest staff at prices that won’t break the bank Carrillo’s should be at the top of your list!
I moved across the country and had to come back for the Machaca plate! North Carolina “Mexican” food could not compete! LOL

They completely messed up my order by adding the ingredient I specifically told them to leave out. I get so tired of people not writing down an order and by the time they get to the kitchen they forgot. Made my burrito inedible. I saw no point in sending it back as I have read too many stories about what happens when you do that. Hubby got carnitas and they were so greasy that he was feeling puny by the time we got home. Was going right through him. We really wanted to like this place. Nice staff and clean appearance of restaurant. $20 bucks down the drain.

Great place to eat. My co workers eat ate their for lunch and everyone was satisfied. I’m from East Los Angeles and finding a good Mexican food restaurant is hard in this part of town. But when we found this place it taste like my grandmothers cooking. One the be sure to order a glass of milk if you request the Habanero hot sauce. Everyone starting sweating after we tried that.
