First off I have to say when we first came in we were a little nervous seeing only one man run tables and bar top counter. They were not overly busy but still for one person a lot to do! That being said we took a chance and waited it out, which wasn’t long at all. We tried the spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken fettuccine specials. Let me tell the Food was fantastic! Did not disappoint. Everything was home cooked a those meatballs were killer!
But most of all to the gentlemen running the show ( I think the owner) who was our waiter. You sir made the whole experience even better so we thank you! it was as if we were family just eating a small lunch just hanging out on a Saturday afternoon. Hopefully we will be back some day.
Take a chance peoples you won’t be disappointed!!
The food was really good we had ordered omelettes and coffee. plus the fresh bread left me feeling satisfied.
The owner Nino took really good care of us
Made sure we had everything we needed.
Google still had street view pictures of the previous business which didn’t help.
When we arrived, the place was really nice and updates with some small trees on the front which made that place much more inviting.
That day was pretty quiet, we picked a table and the owner Nino took care of us. He is really nice. You can see what we ordered on the pictures and we made a couple of substitutions that Nino had no issues with. Everything was good. But what I couldn’t get over was how nicely remodeled the inside was, the hallway to the bathroom, the one to the outdoor patio on the back, etc. Tastefully done. We chatted with Nino and he indicated that he also had bedrooms for rent and that the breakfast was free for the renters. He has a really good thing going on, he works hard and it’s paying off.
I recommend Carpe Diem to anyone and I am sure the bedrooms are great based on how everything else is well put together.
When we will go back in that area to enjoy Hershey Park, we will probably stay there.
The owner is incredibly accommodating and such a joy to talk to—he loves to joke and is a great conversationalist, which makes the experience feel so personal and welcoming.
The food has been wonderful every time. Everything tastes fresh, especially the bread. The coffee is amazing too—I’ve had their cappuccino a few times and it’s always lovely. Sometimes he even adds a little chocolate surprise with the coffee, which is the sweetest touch.
I highly recommend coming here. You’re not just coming for great food—you’re coming for the experience. It truly feels like a little escape to another country.
Update – I went back again and it’s still amazing!
