Been here twice. Got brisket the first time and figured I’d give them a second chance. Got burnt ends the second time. Both were unbelievable garbage. No double smoke after cubing the burnt ends. Tough. Connective tissue is not broken down. Thin smoke ring. Horrible sickly sweet sauce/glaze that covers any semblance of smoke flavor and bark. This crap can’t even legitimately be called a burnt end. My dogs ate most of it and acted annoyed after tasting it. My dogs did not finish it. Any pitmaster worth a damn should be embarrassed to serve this. Take a trip to west Texas or Austin and relearn your craft. I called and said exactly what I said here and the owner made physical threats, screamed, and cussed. Worst bbq in WNC. Easy. Just look at that picture. It just looks tough and lazy. Sysco bbq catering at a high school reunion is better than this.

Meat was on the drier side, and there was a dead fly mixed into the coleslaw.. $3 for a gold peak tea was also a bit silly to me.

Brisket basket looked good, but the meat was mostly FAT. Terrible. Slaw was fresh & service good. No rest room available — not good.

My friends and I stopped in recently and got the pulled pork, brisket, and slaw and loved every bit of it! Nice folks to do business with as they were so helpful by letting us do a taste test! I wish that we could get this kind of bbq in central FL!

Carolina Ace BBQ catered our wedding reception/party. Everything was delicious! Our guests raved about the food. We had pulled chicken, brisket, collard greens, baked beans, and mac n’ cheese. Rico had everything set up early and ready to go. He is friendly and professional. We highly recommend Carolina Aces BBQ for your catering needs!

OK, so those who have read my reviews know that I tell the truth. First, the service was great. The young lady at the register was very nice and gave great suggestions. He may have been the owner, but the Cook came out and spoke with my Mother like he knew her. The view is wonderful, it’s quiet even on a main road.
My Mother loves, loves her soul food. She ordered collards, Mac n cheese, okra, and wings. I had a mad craving for burnt end tips so I ordered those and also the collards and Mac n cheese.
So the collards were seasoned perfectly and just the right tenderness. The Mac n cheese was very good not over cheesy and pasta was just right for Mother. Now her wings were good, she would have liked them to be a little more tender. Mom doesn’t have any teeth but she was able to handle the wings alright. She said just a few pieces of the okra tasted a little salty but the rest must’ve been alright. She dididnt complain or mind as I am always trying to get her to use less salt.
(Drum Roll and….stop…!)
The burnt end tips were a teasing disappointment. There were puite a few bites that were oh so tender that Mother could eat it. Then there were a few that instead of that flavourful burnt crisp taste it was just a little rough. They were chewable, but some pieces took a little work to get through. I am a giant fan of brisket, so I have to return and try the brisket now to see what they are working with.
I’m glad the tips weren’t salty and full of too much seasoning. Most people think that extra salt is the key instead of a little more garlic, onion, and other herbs. But to the tips that were tender they were just right on point.
I know I will visit here again and give my support. For the great and wonderful service, the location (maybe Mother and I will sit out there in the open air next visit), and some good eating.
Hopefully, that day, the Cook will have put both feet in.

The BEST brisket! My wife and I order a platter every time we go. She gets sides of baked beans and slaw and I get fried okra and slaw. We split the lightly smoked hush puppies which are delicious. The sides are excellent and we have never been disappointed eating here. The brisket is tender and the food is fresh. I’m from Texas and this is like Texas’ best. Great food, great people. Carolina Ace BBQ is my go to place for BBQ!

I finally found this place! I ordered the brisket sandwich and wings, and let me tell you…this was . Highly recommend and I will be back…especially since I drive dump trucks and pick up at the Quarry across the street!
