If you’re looking for a sit-down, dine-in experience with table service, this isn’t the place. But if you’re craving authentic Mexican food, you’ve found it. I was in the area on a business trip and needed to satisfy my Mexican food craving—OMG! $2 carnitas tacos on a Tuesday. Four carnitas street tacos and a Coke for just $10 plus tax. I’ll definitely be back! I wish I lived closer!!

I am writing to share a concern about my recent visit to your restaurant.
During my interaction with my server, I spoke in English when placing my order. However, the server continued responding to me in Spanish, even after I clearly communicated in English. At no point was I asked which language I preferred.
While I understand and appreciate bilingual staff, it made me uncomfortable that an assumption was made about my language preference instead of asking. I believe all customers should be addressed in the language they choose, especially when they are clearly communicating that preference.
I am sharing this feedback respectfully and in good faith, as I believe this is an opportunity to improve customer experience and professionalism.

there’s a ton of taquerias in the area that are closer to my home than this one but i will always choose carnitas el bajio over anywhere else. it’s quick, in and out, affordable, and they really load up your plate. i’d recommend the carnitas nachos for 13$. the meat has amazing seasoning and it’s cooked to perfection so it almost melts in your mouth

Good Mexican food. “Hole in the wall status ?”Must stop by if you’re in the area. The quality is tasty and I guess smoked. Prices have gone up just like everything else. Worth it though. There are many places like this, but we like this one as well. As always post wherever your palate takes you .

If you ever travel on McHenry Ave by the feed store and gas station, there is tucked away in the back of the store there is Carnitas El Bajio. I stopped by to order takeout, which was the Personal Combo of 1/2 pound Carnitas with rice and beans. I am continually impressed by this small restaurant and the excellent roasted meats they have. The Carnitas was tender, flavorful, some fat with crispy meat all goodness to include 4 to 5 corn tortillas, some places only give 1 tortilla. Rice and beans were great, but the Carnitas is King here. So look for the signs posted on both sides of the road, stop in and get a truly great meal, enjoy! As usual this is just my opinion.

Food is amazing. I wish the outdoor seating was better. Maybe put some fans in there to keep it cool and keep the flies at bay, but this is the valley. Real authentic Mexican food food 8.5. Definitely
