Founded in 1978 by George Sr. and Iole Macri, Macri’s Italian Bakery is one of the most familiar and respected bakeries in Michiana. And now, Carmela’s at Macri’s established in 2006, is continuing the tradition by offering a distinctive Tuscan menu of fine Italian dishes.

This place was amazing. The Perch was the best fish I have ever eaten. The stuffed mushrooms were creamy and cheesy and delicious and the Italian dessert was amazing. The dressing on the salad was delicious. Will be coming here again. Samantha our waitress was very attentive and friendly.

This place was a great fine after flying into South Bend. This food was so authentic and melted in your mouth. That’s sweet Italian flavor. I would repeat this place again we actually went back the next day for the bakery, which was outstanding.

This is an easy five out of five star review! The food was great, the service was excellent, and Carmela’s somehow created a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.
