Lovely place, last minute decision from us after a long day. Lovely candle lit dinner and amazing food! The young lady was very attentive and handled everything brilliantly so hats off to you. My only snag was I asked the younger guy for another drink and It never arrived so had to ask the lady for one instead but that’s very minor. All in all I would recommend 10/10

I came with my friends for a New Year’s Eve lunch. While the food was amazing, the customer service was disappointing. No one came to check on our table, and we waited more than 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared, followed by another 10 minutes before dessert was served. Although the floor staff were cleaning and resetting the tables around us, no one attended to our table, which made us feel ignored.
When it was time to pay, there was also an issue with the bill. The young lady who took our order mixed it up, as we had ordered both a regular three-course meal and a festive course meal. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have experienced being ignored. Every time I dine here, the floor staff rarely check on our table. Aside from the service issues, the food was excellent.

Visited on a Bank Holiday Monday so I think they might’ve been understaffed and hence service was a bit slow. The Giardiniera pasta was worse than had before at another branch and pasta wasn’t cooked that great with a lot of it sticking together. Goats cheese pizza was nice though.

We popped in here as a group of four, so a coffee break from the shops.
Despite having a ‘coffee takeaway’ area, presumably presenting itself as a barista-style option, we were surprised to learn they offer no form of flavours at all for the coffees. Seems a strange omission as the could add a surcharge to people’s drinks for this and easily make money on it.
Still, we ordered our drinks (lattes, a cappuccino and a hot chocolate – nothing remotely complicated) and then waited over half an hour for them to be brought to our table. One of the drinks was cold, presumably made first as they took forever to make the other three.
As for the toilets – they’re a good way to get your steps up. You practically need a map, a compass, and sufficient water to make the journey.
We won’t be back. We don’t have time!

Good portions on reasonable price.
Recommended by a friend. Really enjoyed it. Good Italian option in Chester.

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at Carluccio’s on a day trip to the Christmas market. The restaurant is centrally located at the street level of one of the Bridge Street Rows, in a lovely old black and white Tudor style building. Inside, it’s spacious and clean, with a stylish contemporary decor and colour scheme, modern artwork on the walls, and comfy leather seating. You have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the main toilets, but there is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I was offered a glass of water to drink with my meal. The well stocked bar had a great choice of mainly Italian beers, wines and liqueurs. Authentic Italian cuisine that included freshly baked focaccias, a tempting selection of antipasti, pizzas, and pasta dishes. There was also a children’s menu. I chose from the Christmas set menu, two courses for £24.95. The duck arancinis with nduja mayo were hot, crispy and flavoursome, and the pork saltimbocca in a white wine sauce, served with rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes and rocket, was well cooked and made a delicious main course. Excellent red wine too. Did not have a dessert, but they looked very good! The staff were polite, friendly and attentive throughout my meal, and service was very efficient. There were also some nice Italian food gifts to take out, including pasta, olive oil, wine, and large panettones. Overall a delightful lunch experience! Would recommend.

We had to leave…unattended for more than 20 minutes after sitting. And regrettably, it was not because of the great number of people at the tables. We still wonder what were they waiting for to come to our table after I called their attention to serve us. If you’re reading this ands you’re still waiting, come by the Urbano 32; better ambience and quicker service.

I have eaten at this Carluccio’s on numerous occasions & today was so disappointing.
From the minute we walked in the staff seemed disinterested & brusque at best. This was unlike previous visits, we waited a good 15mins for our order to be taken, two tables that followed us both had their orders taken first, & a woman at a table behind us, said she was leaving as she was sick of being ignored.
After our order was finally taken, we waited 20 minutes for one starter, a soup, to be served & then a further 40 minutes for our main course. Furthermore the crab and prawn risotto main for my husband, was bland & tasteless.
It’s very hard to comprehend why our lunch was so poor, in comparison with other visits, but the attitude of the staff seemed to reflect the whole experience.

We had a terrible experience here on Boxing Day, which of course should have been a real treat. The food was underwhelming, the order was wrong, the lasagna was burnt, and it was served on chipped crockery. The lad serving us was totally out of place and had no attention to service. To make things worse we sent a complaint in to Carluccio’s via their website on the 27th December and we haven’t heard a thing since! What a company! We will never return and we do not recommend it.
