Oh man, amazing sandwiches! Nothing fancy, but delicious. You might have to wait in line for a few minutes, but it’s worth it. We had pastrami and Reuben sandwiches.

It was pretty good, we got pastrami and turkey sandwiches. They have a discount if you pay with cash (1% or something, I believe). Kaiser roll was great, prefer that over the white bread. Meat was good though not super flavorful.. I’m thinking I should try the cold version next time!

The portion of meat that you get is crazy! I’m more of a bread and veggies person myself, so the fact that they charge for lettuce, tomatoe, and onions is a quick thumbs down (not to metion cheese is another seperate charge. The prices are a bit too high. For a sandwich and chips, I paid about 17 bucks (which did not include vegetables because I assumed they came with the sandwich. You can get the same quality with cheese and vegetables included at Jersey Mikes for less. The hospitality level gets a 5 out of 10. They’re not rude but they don’t make you feel particularly welcomed. I heard that the original owners sold the business a while back. Sadly I will not return.

Carl’s is a clean little deli on Clayton Rd, just across the street from St Mary’s Hospital. Carl greets his customers as they enter and offers easy, friendly conversation. Though the building isn’t designed for accessibility, if you need a ramp, just ask and Carl or one of his employees will put one out if it’s not already in place.

This place is a must if you’re in this area! The sandwiches are huge and delicious! It has the feel and character of an old NYC deli! I will be back as often as possible! Seriously can’t say enough good stuff about this gem!

I was at the hospital and this place is walking distance. The menu is nice and a great selection. I ordered a corned beef, a pastrami, a ham and cheese and some others. Upon receiving the meal, I was impressed with the portion. The flavor of the bun and meat were delicate and delicious. I give the deli a five star due to the freshness and quality. Definitely will be a returning visitor.

This is a good, local neighborhood take-out sandwich joint, though not the special, destination, go-out-of-your-way deli that other reviewers are making it out to be. Absolutely, the portions here are great, but the quality is not the “New York style deli” level I was informed it was. Any served-hot sandwiches are simply warmed up in Chef Mike (microwave); and though tasty and large portioned, nothing special. The dining space doubles as a storage area, with the line for the sandwich counter weaving between 7-8 tightly placed tables, and really needs a remodel, and expansion. Parking is on street, practically non-existant. The place seemed understaffed when I visited mid-day. Two people traded off making sandwiches and handling payment/money, with no one to service tables, most of which had empty plates and lunch detritus decorating them.
