First impressions of this place were great. It has a cozy dining area and a warm, well decorated interior. Although they weren’t lasting impressions. My date and I found it to be a little too cozy. With seating similar to panera bread the quaint effect soon wore off and we found conversations overlapping our neighbors. We asked our server to relocate to a booth but they were full so we switched to the less busy of the two dinning areas. Our rookie server said that was fine and instead of helping us we carried our own appetizers and glasses to the new table. No big deal, we laughed it off. He suggested for us to try the Frank, Dean and Sammy Combo. The Chicken Spiedini was the least bland thing. The taste of everything was off. My date agreed. For 80$ I expected a completely different meal. Not to my surprise when I reheated the leftovers the next day I found my Alfredo and pasta sauce were comprised of mostly oil that had separated. I would take my date to Fazoli’s before Carlo’s again. She would agree.

I’ve been here twice. The last time was one of the worst dining experience I’ve had. The restaurant was dirty and my date and I were sat back by the kitchen door. I’m a foodie and I cannot believe this passes for Italian in this city. The shrimp appetizer was tasteless and we almost left after that. We were told the spedini was the best around and, having had the popular spedini at the competitor I can tel you *it is not even close*! I’m sorry, this is not real italian, but a Midwest attempt at authenticity. Sadly, when it was at the original location in midtown, I found the food and atmosphere to be far superior. I will not go here again.

This place sucks. I could have gone to Fazolis and gotten faster and better food.

The food was excellent, far better than you’d expect in a strip mall. I ordered shrimp alfredo, and it was cooked exactly right with a wonderful mix of flavors. My wife and left very pleasantly surprised.

Perfect in every way! Love the “sugo” as they call it. It is the best Red Sauce ever! Reminds me of home. I am from Chicago and this is the first restaurant that has brought me back to that time. Will be coming back soon and often. 🙂

The food and service are incredible. Love the owner and their family. The only thing that hurts is my bank account.
