The Carbon County Steakhouse is one of the most well known steakhouses in Montana and Wyoming. Our unique modern-western ambience is a mix of the 1800’s cowboy cattle drives and contemporary fine-dining, featuring world-class wines, and diet friendly cuisines. We serve our customers humanely raised and locally-sourced meats from Gallagher’s Natural Beef & Produce, a family owned and operated ranch in Clark, Wyoming 30 miles from our restaurant. Each of our steaks is hand-cut our seafood is fresh, and our desserts are rich and uniquely hand-crafted from our expert culinary staff.

better than anticipated. Food was good to very good. i had the tenderloin which isn’t my preferred cut but it is generally the safest cut to order when you don’t know anything about a place. Potato soup flavorful. Wedge salad had v. little dressing but had a nice strip of bacon and the dried blue cheese crumbles were complementary to the lettuce. no dessert. service was teamwork at its finest. i would/will return

Great location, good information outside the restaurant, so you got a good idea what you’re walking into. Greeted at the door with a full bar. This allows you to get something to drink while you wait for a seat.
We were seated pretty quickly. Everyone on the staff were helping each other out. It seems like it is a pretty well run restaurant.
The food was excellent. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection, and the seasoning could not have been any better.
The entire staff was amazing, the service was fast, and everybody seemed to know what they were doing. My meal was a refreshing treat.
The Wine Room was really nice to see. This restaurant was built well and has a nice Montana feel to it.

Food was good, but we reserved the upstairs and were told upon arrival that upstairs seating would not be available because of staff shortage. Truth be told ALL night long we were there couples and groups were being brought upstairs right past our table. I assume since we were a young couple or for what seemed like a reason other than what was told to us we were not seated upstairs. We got engaged on that day to add on top of things. I’m the type of person that values respect and I felt greatly disrespected because of this. And as a result I will not go back or recommend this restaurant.

Here just for the night and was craving a steak, the local cut special here was incredible, might be one of the best cuts of meat I’ve ever had. Their selection of wines, though expectedly small was very good for the area! Megan (sorry not name spelling), was the bartender and my server, she was great, very friendly and attentive, and despite a small hiccup with my dessert this meal was amazing, and very relaxing place to eat solo. Highly reccomend!

We made reservations ahead of time. We checked in and were immediately seated. I would’ve given 5 stars for the food, but we ordered the “chicken lollipops” and one was way undercooked. We both had New York Strips, very tender, cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive all evening. Very good service. The best steak in Red Lodge.

I’m not sure how they prepare their steaks here, but mine arrived bone dry and lukewarm, ordered medium rare and served medium to medium well. When I finished the steak there were no juices at all on the plate, indicating that it was resting too long before plating. Root vegetables were undercooked to the point one piece was raw. Baked potato was flavorless and looked as if no seasoning had been done to the skin at all. My wife’s elk medallions were also underwhelming, though appropriately cooked. Our drinks, appetizer, and dessert were good enough though.
